2. Introduction
Are you one of the lucky ones who will be traveling to Australia this year?
Millions of people all over the world will be visiting the land down under, as
well! Before you go, here are some things you’ll want to know about
Australia.

Australia is
Enormous!
Australia is the sixth largest country in the world. It’s massive! Even if you
think you get it, it’s nearly impossible to fathom the amount of time it
would take you to see all of Australia. For that reason, it’s important to
carefully plan your journey. Otherwise, simply traveling from one location
to another could easily eat up your precious vacation time. You’ll save
more time by choosing one centralized location and stick to discovering
just one small portion of Australia.
4. Australia is Super
Expensive
Even though the currency rate between the U.S. dollar and
the Australian dollar is currently in favor of the U.S. dollar,
that doesn’t mean you’re getting a bargain. It will probably
cost you at least $200 U.S. dollars a day for
accommodation and a modest meal. Then you have to
factor in the money for transportation to your activities,
and the charge for the activity itself. Basically, if you’re
planning to travel to Australia later this year, start saving
your pennies now.

5. Wear Sunblock
Australia is in the southern hemisphere and the sun is super
strong. Don’t let a sunburn on the first day ruin your entire trip.
Wear plenty of sunblock on any exposed skin. Invest in a cute sun
hat for even more sun protection for your face. Keep a sheer cover
up in your bag if the sun gets too intense.
6. No Tipping
Required
Tipping isn’t standard practice in Australia. It may feel weird not to tip your
cab driver, waiter or hotel bellboy, but they will feel even weirder if you try
to give them a tip. Service workers are paid very well in Australia and they
don’t rely on tips to supplement their income. But it’s always appreciated if
you express your gratitude for a job well done by smiling and saying thank
you. Genuine appreciation always helps to make a service worker’s day
more pleasant!
