throughout Scotland. Founded by professionals with over 35 years of combined
experience in the industry, it’s safe to say that we know a thing or two about

Our Background
Our founders are some of the most talented recruiters and business people in the
industry;
Ian Mitchell is the Co-Founder of Recruitment City. He has worked in
recruitment for 20 years, and prior to launching SevenSteps with his
business partner Richard Mackie, he was a senior manager of BMS – a
large UK Wide recruitment company. Ian is well known in the
recruitment industry for adhering to his client’s requirements, he has
rigorous candidate selection processes and an excellent ability to rally
his team around a goal.
Steven Smith is the Co-Founder of Recruitment City. An award winning
entrepreneur with a proven track record of sales and business growth,
Steven is extensively qualified in business growth. Steven has a
reputation for driving innovation in his companies, whilst maximising
revenue and introducing excellent new products to market. Steven is
currently the Managing Director of the Lead Generation Company, a
successful organisation which helps businesses to improve their
telemarketing capabilities and lead generation.
Kelly Court is the General Manager of Recruitment City. An
accomplished leader, with a highly ambitious and target driven mind-
set. Kelly previously worked her way up in the leisure industry,
managing sports and leisure facilities and developing her skills in man-
management, driving sales and strategic decision making. Kelly is an
energetic and motivated leader, who will raise the bar for the
recruitment industry in the coming years.

recruitment, the industry which has centred on making a quick buck.
 We do not try to do something which we are not qualified for, it takes years of
experience and learning to become familiar enough with a particular industry
to make intelligent decisions on identifying the right person for a job. This is
why we work with industry partners who look after our clients with right
experience and knowledge, who can deliver our expert recruitment solutions,
perfectly tailored to your needs.
 We offer the consultative services of our partners, it’s important to us that you
not only get the right people in your organisation, but also that you have the

 We will always listen to what you need. We have an extensive vacancy
documentation system in place which helps us to not only get to know the
roles for which you are hiring, but also gives us a much broader view of your
organisation, allowing us to work closer with you and to understand your point
of view.
 Post Placement Care is a core principle in our business model, it’s not enough
for us to deliver the finest talent to your company. We will stick around to

•Our partner will make contact with you (or you may reach out to them) and introduce our business to you.

•Our partner will meet with you formally to establish your exact requirements, at which point we will discuss our terms and
conditions with you to ensure that each party has an understanding of the other's expectations.

•Once we feel we have sufficient information to identify the right candidates, our partner will pass along your information to
our office, where our crack resourcing team will begin to work their magic. During this stage we will begin to headhunt
candidates, advertise your vacancies confidentially and initiate a dedicated internal operation to fill your vacancies.

•Once we have established a list of hopeful applicants, our veteran recruitment team will work with the partner to screen
potential candidates and create a shortlife via face to face profiling.

•The initial interview will always be handled by our team, so that we can make sure that the right candidates meet various
criteria, including appropriate legal requirements and verify their qualifications and experience.

•Afterwards, we will initiate the formal selection process with you, at which point we will make the candidates available to
you for interview and screening.

•Once everyone is satisfied that appropriate candidates have been identified, we will progress to the firm offer stage, and we
will then handle all the details related to making the placement a success.

•The final stage has us handling anything related to post placement, including following up with both you and the candidate
about the experience and to make sure our candidate is settled in, and that you are happy with them.
How Does It Work?
The first link in our chain is our partners. They will be your main point of contact
throughout the whole process of working with us.
The only thing we require from you is your input. At first we will want to gather as
much information about you and your business as possible in order to maximise the
quality and accuracy of the job spec that we work with. This is important for other
reasons too, namely that we find the best candidates suited to your company
culture, work ethic and with a skillset – all tailored to your needs.
Afterwards we will begin to find candidates for you, profile them with the help of our
partner, and eventually interview them before putting them in-front of you. By the
time we are ready to present a candidate, you know that we have performed
exhaustive checks on their quality.

Jane Ferguson Marine Biology Partner
 Spent most of her early adult life working in the fishing industry, later

marine labs.

Our partners are the middle man of the service which we offer. Generally, they will
meet the following standards;
 Partners will come from any industry, regardless of how niche it is. Meaning
that no matter what it is you do, we’ll likely have someone who will have an
understanding of what it is that you do.
 Our partners will have a minimum of ten years of experience in their chosen
field of specialty, allowing us to offer you a professional who genuinely
understands your industry.
 We train our partners in recruitment basics so that even they will be able to
offer an intelligent opinion on your recruitment needs, should you not require
our full services.
 We do not put pressure on our partners to achieve targets or make a certain
amount of money, so you can rest assured knowing that we are not out to
simply make a quick fee at your expense.

Our Candidates
We rely primarily on headhunting our candidates
directly, which means that we won’t send you every
other candidate who applies for every job that they see.
We don’t see the point in sending you an unworkable
stack of CVs, at best we will send you a handful of
candidates who we feel match the job description as
closely as possible, whilst also fitting in with your special
requirements.
Through our partner companies, partners and founders, we also have access to vast
networks and resources through which we can find the best talent in key industries,
meaning that we aren’t limited to those who apply for our jobs, from the moment
we have your specification it is likely that we’ll have someone in mind.

  • 5. 4 1 •Our partner will make contact with you (or you may reach out to them) and introduce our business to you. 2 •Our partner will meet with you formally to establish your exact requirements, at which point we will discuss our terms and conditions with you to ensure that each party has an understanding of the other's expectations. 3 •Once we feel we have sufficient information to identify the right candidates, our partner will pass along your information to our office, where our crack resourcing team will begin to work their magic. During this stage we will begin to headhunt candidates, advertise your vacancies confidentially and initiate a dedicated internal operation to fill your vacancies. 4 •Once we have established a list of hopeful applicants, our veteran recruitment team will work with the partner to screen potential candidates and create a shortlife via face to face profiling. 5 •The initial interview will always be handled by our team, so that we can make sure that the right candidates meet various criteria, including appropriate legal requirements and verify their qualifications and experience. 6 •Afterwards, we will initiate the formal selection process with you, at which point we will make the candidates available to you for interview and screening. 7 •Once everyone is satisfied that appropriate candidates have been identified, we will progress to the firm offer stage, and we will then handle all the details related to making the placement a success. 8 •The final stage has us handling anything related to post placement, including following up with both you and the candidate about the experience and to make sure our candidate is settled in, and that you are happy with them. We don’t see the point in sending you an unworkable stack of CVs, at best we will send you a handful of candidates who we feel match the job description as closely as possible, whilst also fitting in with your special requirements.
