As a senior project management professional, I have an outstanding record planning, executing and
delivering complex projects within tight time and budget constraints for firms in the oil, gas and energy
sector. I have directed teams that consistently exceeded demand corporate and client expectations,
delivering ahead of schedule and under budget while meeting rigorous contract, quality and regulatory
compliance requirements.
Working for firms such as Talascend Worldwide Engineering, FMC Technologies and others, and
serving a client base that includes global leaders in the energy sector such as BP and Chevron, I have
played project management roles on large scale international surface and subsea oilfield engineering,
planning and construction projects.
In addition to day-to-day project management operations responsibilities, I have managed budgets
ranging up to $400M. I have special expertise in project controls and development of technical and
engineering project documentation.
As a contributor to business development and contract capture efforts, I have been instrumental in
preparing successful pricing, bid and proposal strategies that resulted in major contract wins.

CAREER HISTORY & SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Project / Contract Management Technical Editor / Technical Writer, Talascend Worldwide
Engineering Resources, 2015-Present. Recruited by a global engineering resources firm for a major
subsea oil project with Bechtel in Tahiti for Chevron. Managed production of technical documentation as
part of the contract performance QA process. Key contributions include:
Developed digital tech manuals for major undersea oil project. Talascend was engaged
by Bechtel Subsea to support a Chevron underwater oil project in Tahiti. Tasked as a part of
team to manage documentation for the project. Played a key role in developing new
technical/engineering digital documentation and improving existing materials for a major
expansion program. Currently ahead of all of schedule deadlines. Received commendations
from Chevron and Bechtel for the quality of the work product.
FMC Technologies, a $7.1B oil & gas equipment/services firm. Repeatedly promoted, roles include:
Stage Gate Assessment Manager, 2012-2015. Directed project health assessment program
including subsea EPC audits. Provided program/project services and managed technical
documentation and revisions. Concurrently (2014-2015), Document Control Supervisor. Led a team
of 12 specialists managing technical and contract documentation for all global subsea EPC projects.
Notable achievements include:
Turned around project processes, accelerating productivity 15-fold. FMC project health
assessment methods were outdated and failed to keep pace with evolving needs. Developed
and implemented new, streamlined review processes for use across all EPC projects globally.
Exploited organizational synergies to increase productivity and eliminate redundancies. Cut
review cycle time from five days to only eight hours. Enabled precise, timely assessment of all
project milestones, including schedule and budget burn rate. Provided detailed snapshots for
top management.
Senior Project Manager, 2005-2012. Led project management efforts for Gulf of Mexico deep-water
oilfield development. Managed all phases from tender to first-oil on programs with budgets ranging
from $5M to $400M. Key accomplishments include:
Reengineered processes to boost efficiency 87.5%. Project document control processes
at FMC were inefficient, resulting in downstream productivity bottlenecks. Created new
processes tied to changing project demands. Cut document turnaround time from 32 hours to
only four hours. Saved $100K on review labor alone, reducing headcount. Improved both
internal and external client satisfaction.
Reduced project risk with diversified strategic sourcing. FMC reliance on a single
supplier for key pipe products resulted in high levels of project interruption risk. Collaborating
closely with procurement and project leadership, devised and rolled out a new multivendor
strategic sourcing model. Shifted partial product development costs to the customer.
Accelerated deliveries and alleviated risks with minimal impact on costs.

Took on new responsibilities to retain a key team member. A talented engineering
professional was being held back from promotion and reassignment to a more crucial project
role at FMC. Volunteered to take on an additional Stage Gate Assessment Manager role,
freeing the engineer to move to the new position, from which he rapidly earned promotion.
Seamlessly juggled multiple responsibilities at no additional costs until new talent could be
appointed to fill the vacant slot. Kept all milestones on track throughout the transition.
Ensured retention of a valued team member.
Protected a $100M contract while cutting costs & increasing margins. FMC client BP
raised concerns on pricing differences from its large Thunder Horse project compared to prior
FMC contracts. Conducted a deep-dive analysis of the new project, demonstrating the
hardware design changes made by BP were driving the higher costs without adding
functionality. Convinced BP to retract the changes. Enabled FMC to cut costs, increasing
margins by nearly 10%.
Earlier: Product Project Manager, Subsea Controls, Qualitec Consulting Group; and Aftermarket
Manager and Facility Manager, Nautronix, Inc. Began career in technical and project management roles
at Gamma-Metrics and General Instrument Corp. Achievements include:
Turned around an underperforming operation. Nautronix’s San Diego campus was in
disarray, resulting in poor performance and plummeting morale. Focusing on low-hanging
fruit, targeted low-cost and no-cost improvements. Revitalized the facilities. Improved training,
staff relations and support. Enhanced transparency, empowerment and accountability. Won
support for landlord-funded improvements to the site. Dramatically improved workforce
engagement and satisfaction, stemming a tide of attrition.
Streamlined contract management. Lack of standardization at Gamma-Metrics resulted in
contract management chaos, unnecessary labor and challenges from clients. Developed a
modular series of contract documents with interchangeable sections for domestic and
overseas markets. Reduced complexity during proposals and negotiations and accelerated
acceptance of final contract documents.
