As the Director of Development & Community Relations for RAYS, I created fun and meaningful projects for 90 volunteers. The groups came from local churches, Seattle University, Nordstrom, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and were part of a regional service day. RAYS owns a historic building in downtown Renton and most volunteers worked on renovation projects there to make the space more comfortable for kids and families in counseling.

2. Each year, the City of Renton and local
Church of Latter-Day Saints sponsor
a day of volunteering
to commemorate the anniversary of 9/11.
Nearly 1,000 volunteers work
at more than 20 sites
to beautify neighborhood treasures.

3. The incredible group that adopted RAYS
this year donated 132 hours of time.
They transformed the entrances around our
family counseling center:
cutting down overgrown bushes to improve
security, planting flowers, and putting
brick borders around the new flower beds.
