A passionate, enthusiastic and reliable Masters Design Graduate, seeking employment in an
established Design Practice. Throughout my degree I have balanced my studies with a part time
job in customer services. I have a calm and logical approach to design work and problem solving
and work well under pressure. I enjoy working collaboratively and feel I often guide and assist others
within the group; as well as working effectively independently.
Web Design Rawmarsh City Learning Centre
This was a placement in which I completed a web design course. The aim of this course was to
gain the necessary skills in web design; put together a portfolio and produce a site for a given client.
In the second half of this placement, I worked as part of a 4 person team to design and produce a
web site for a local children’s numeracy education pack. This experience taught me the necessary
skills in web design, as well as how to work as part of a team towards a desired goal. During my
time here I gained a NCFE level 2 qualification in interactive media, equivalent to a grade B GCSE.
Customer Experience Advisor at Capita October 2009 - September 2015
I took on this role as it was an opportunity to support myself through my education and further my
experience in customer service. Through my time working with o2 at Capita, I have developed my
interaction with customers and strive to problem solve and create a positive customer experience. I
have also taken on additional roles in my time there such as mentoring new employees to achieve
their full potential within their roles.
Design Intern at Design Futures January-May 2014
This was a self sourced 3 month placement undertaken as part of my studies at Sheffield
Hallam. My role was junior designer and researcher. Responsibilities included research, concept
generation, development, model production and liaising with clients and suppliers. This internship
offered the opportunity to work with more experienced designers forming part of an effective team.
I developed my skills surrounding design for manufacture and experienced juggling multiple projects
and deadlines.
General Processing Assistant May-August 2013 And 2014
This was a temporary position taken over my summer breaks to support my further education
financially. Throughout my time at Edexcel I gained experience in client confidentiality and working
across departments. This included library auditing, stock management and event support.
I have always had an interest in art from an early age. I find design an excellent outlet for my creativity
as it allows me to demonstrate my skills while producing something of worth and purpose. I have
an interest in photography, and like to practice this when I get the opportunity, as it is something I
enjoy researching and exploring.
I love to meet new people and I am very sociable; I enjoy meeting people through mutual interests
such as motorcycles and design.

Junior Designer Symphony Group July 2015 - Present
This is the first design role I have undertaken since leaving university. The role involves drafting
layouts for consumer kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms. In my time at Symphony I have gained
experience working with large clients communicating on a regular basis to develop kitchen layouts
and design solutions. The role has also allowed me to extend my experience of using various Cad
packages such as Planet and Auto Cad.
