Google organizes massive online e-commerce festivals in partnership with
some big brands like Amazon, Paytm, Magicbricks etc. These festivals are
planned in a dynamic manner with more partners being added as the festival
launch date approaches. As lot of money was at stake, Google used to run
these campaigns in AWS as they were not confident of running on Google
Cloud.
How did we help Google?
Powerupcloud is the first team to run a massive online festival on Google
Cloud globally. Our team helped Google to successfully migrate the festival
site from AWS to Google Cloud within a week. We were able to do this as we
understand the AWS services better than most teams. This festival of 10 days
saw some astounding numbers:

In addition to 24*7 support, Powerupcloud also built a highly sophisticated

Online Home Festival), GDM (Grand Diwali Mela) etc to promote
the habit of online shopping among customers.

4. Facebook
FacebookCampaign Tied Together
Facebook India promotes several Indian Festivals with online
campaigns. One such online campaign was Tied Together which
was released for Raksha Bandhan – a festival which celebrates
the love and duty between brothers and sisters.
The Challenge
The campaign was designed to celebrate childhood memories of brothers
and sisters. Users can pull their sibling images from their Facebook profile
and mash them into a 15 seconds video with an audio background, and can
post the final video back in Facebook. We used FFMPEG for video creation.
FFMPEG application being one of the heaviest, Facebook was looking for a
partner who can help them run this massive campaign on AWS without any
downtime or latency issues.
How did we help Facebook?
Powerupcloud designed the AWS architecture in high available auto scaling
mode to ensure 100% uptime of the application. As the application was
heavy, several parameters including auto-scaling rules were tweaked to
accommodate sudden spike in user traffic. Powerupcloud also handled
automated deployments during the entire campaign period which saw at-
least 3 deployments per day.
The campaign was a resounding success with over 2 million users using the
application to post their memories online.

Hungama.com was one of the first Indian companies to use AWS to host their
application. Today Hungama runs close to 1000 servers on AWS across 8
different accounts. Hungama spends close to $100K on a monthly basis with
AWS while their competitors spend just 1/4th of this. Also they being one of the
earliest to adapt AWS, their workloads run on EC2 classic which leads to
several cost overhead and security concerns.
How did we help Hungama?
Powerupcloud was recommended by AWS to Hungama to help them optimize
the AWS setup and bring down the cost by 60%. Powerupcloud team used
PowerTracker (an in-house tool to audit AWS accounts for usage, cost and
security) to assess Hungama’s current AWS setup and come up with
recommendations towards cost optimization and security.
Powerupcloud is working with Hungama tobring down their cost by $20K
every 4 months and also tighten the security of the AWS environment. In first
month, Powerupcloud team has brought down the cost by $9K.

UTOO Cabs is hosted on Google Cloud and the expectation from the customer is to have a
low latency and high performing application which can handle high traffic from customers

How did we help UTOO?
Considering the high volume of API calls, the architecture was decoupled and designed in
several layers to ensure that the API calls are processed by a queue. The application
architecture was designed to work for a maximum concurrency of 20,000 users.
With recent hacks of other cab aggregation apps, Powerupcloud performed comprehensive
VAPT audit, ethical hacking and implemented WAF to ensure the security of the application

Bizfi.com processes millions of transactions and API calls in a month and due
to security concerns they maintain their data on-premise. But this has reduced
their flexibility of using some advanced cloud services and also increased
their cost multifold as Bizfi has to store data for atleast 5 years due to meet
compliance. Bizfi was looking to migrate their massive Data Warehouse and
Reporting modules to cloud to reduce the overall time taken for generating
insights and reports on a daily basis.
How did we help Bizfi?
As Bizfi was a heavy Microsoft shop with more than 100 SSIS jobs,
Powerupcloud decided to move their on-prem SQL Server based DWH to
Azure SQL Data Warehouse which will involve less changes to their current
setup while also providing Bizfi with all advantages of a highly secure and
scalable DWH.
Powerupcloud also helped Bizfi in optimizing most of their long running
