to our learning.

4. Getting Knowledge Ready
In small groups (using the
whiteboards) discuss and
answer the following
questions:
What do you expect to
get out of PL?
What do you want to
achieve by the end of Yr
8? (refer to Learning
goals created with your
TA teacher)
What do you think the
teacher’s expectations
are this year?
What does
the title tell
me?
What do I
predict the
text will be
about?
What can
the pictures
tell me?
What do I
already know
about this
topic?
What
words do
I expect
to see?
What
images come
to mind?
What will I
do as I
read?
5. School Values
Using the school values we are going to
create a class display
Each student will get a piece of yellow, blue,
and green paper to list the expected
behaviour of the value
RESPECT – yellow
RESPONSIBILITY – blue
COMMITMENT – green
Place on butchers paper
6. School Values
Discuss as a class the different values that
students’ came up with – are they in the
right place?
Are there any double ups?
Choose the best 10-15 for each poster
If students think of something else that is
important they can get another piece of
paper (colour related) and put it on the
poster.
7. Review
Think about the SHS
school values.
How do they relate
to your personal
learning?
What learning
actions did you use
to complete
today’s activities?
Notes de l'éditeur
Have students write the words in their glossary and put their own definition for each of the key words
