3.1. Energy Audits
EWEN – 3. Services
» EWEN is a reference company in Energy Audits, with solid expertise and a vast experience in a wide range of industrial sectors.
» We do not limit our work to the Utilities of a plant – we study the process with the objective to seek opportunities
for improving the plant’s energy performance.
» Our vast range of field equipment, allows us to
measure in the field, virtually any physical parameter,
without any impact to operating systems:
• for electric power we use open CT’s;
• for compressed air we use hot-tapping techniques;
• for liquid flow, we use non-intrusive equipment;
» Our unique data-mining capabilities enable us to
convert large amounts of data (measured with field
equipment or downloaded from Scada systems) into
useful information, aimed at identifying energy saving
opportunities.
Guaranteed Results » We always guarantee the pay-back, for the implementation of any efficiency
measure we recommend in our audit report.
» Our Energy Efficiency Measures are always
presented with clear assumptions, detailed calculations
& transparent investment estimates.

Frequently the life of industrial instruemnts is reduced, because the equipment is exposed to aggressive
environments:
» thermaly – very low temperatures;
» chemically – exposure to aggressive products (caused by leaks or even by washing);
With a litthe investment, these instruments can be protected, prolonging their usefull life. EWEN develops
customized protection solutions, according to the clients’ needs.

e+Air » Road-map of EWEN's e+Air (compressed air system audit):
At the compressed air plant:
- We analyse the plant's equipment and layout, including compressors, filters, dryers, and reservoirs);
- We measure the energy consumption of the plant & and the compressed air production, to obtain the specific energy consumption of the plant;
- For measuring the air production, we use a "hot-tapping" technique, which enables us to introduce our flow / pressure / dew-point sensors, without
interrupting the operation of the compressed air plant.
At the compressed air piping network:
- We analyse the layout of the piping network, and its adequacy for the current plant it serves;
- We execute a detailed leak detection campaign, identifying and classifying all the air leaks, using ultra-sonic equipment;
During our audit:
- Integrator and transmitter via GPRS, to obtain data in real time and online during the measurement campaign » REAL-TIME DATA
Our e+Air Audit Report:
- Presents a detailed analysis of the energy consumption, air pressure and quality and specific energy consumption;
-Proposes measures to improve the efficiency of the compressed air plant, which could be adding VSD's, acquiring new equipment, changing the
control philosophy, reducing the air pressure;
-Proposes measures related to the compressed air network, which could be: resizing of loops, separating or joining piping loops, adding control valves
to isolate parts of the loops, during part-operation of the plant, air leak correction, adding localized booster compressors (to allow lowering of pressure
for remaining network), adding reservoirs close to equipment with peak demands, etc;
- Any measure is presented with field-collected and analysed data and corresponding detailed calculations, as well as a detailed cost estimate and
economic feasibility study.

Together with the compressor & dryer power measurement, it allows to us to obtain the specific
power consumption of the compressed air plant (in Real Time).
We install hot-tapping insertion flowmeters without any interruption of compressed air service.
EWEN supplies and installs flow meters, using hot-tapping techniques (compressed air systems in

6.2. Process Optimization Services
EWEN – 6. Data Analytics
It is very common to see in a company, the usage a large number of spreadsheet files, used to plan, execute, monitor and report on a
single process.
These highly complex, error-prone and often non-functional or innacurate systems, absorb a huge amount of manhours of people
that could dedicate their time to the analysis of the data, instead of inserting the same data into several systems that simply do not
produce useful information.
EWEN’s ability to plan, develop and implement data management systems that handle large amounts of complex data, providing
simultaneously, extremely powerful yet user-friendly and web-accessible reporting functions, with automatic connections to SAP.
enables EWEN to help our clients to improve the efficiency of their processes

EWEN – 7. PP&C PP&C – Project Planning and Control
Main advantage of DEVA, compared to the traditional EVM
tools:
Allows a quick analysis of any part of the project;
Allows to execute a drill-down all the way to the schedule
activities, responsible for the variance in the SPI (Schedule
Performance Index);
Examples of drill-down filters:
» “Phase = Design [AND] Discipline = HVAC [AND] Zone = Building A”
»» Phase = MEP [AND] Discipline = HVAC [AND] Building = A
[AND] Level = Floor 2”...
Contribution of activities (at different
levels) responsible for the SPI variance

Large and complex projects demand professional Project Planning capability. This demand is more
intense in the beginning, but lasts up to the end of the project. With a view to provide this type of
supporting services, at the most competitive cost, EWEN’s Modus Operandi consists of two phases:
• Phase 1 (2 to 6 months, depending on the project and the Joint Venture needs):
Intensive mobilization to develop the detailed project schedule as well as all procedures,
databases and reporting mechanisms for the project team – this phase includes training of
local personnel. Normally 1 to 3 experts mobilized (typical 2 to 3 wk per month on site).
• Phase 2 (monitoring phase up to the end of the project):
During the remaining project, EWEN will continue to monitor the project’s progress and provide
all needed assistance, on an as-needed basis. Usually includes physical local presence (2d to
2 wk per month), complemented by remote support.
