JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Systems Analyst role’s function is to strategically design and implement applications and systems
in consultation with the Senior Applications Architect. This encompasses a broad range of systems-related
functions including BI (integration with databases and data warehouses), Application Rationalization,
architecture, design and development.
A driver of innovation, the Senior Systems Analyst identifies opportunities for improvement on systems and
promotes SDLC providing technical expertise and guidance to other technical staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related field of study.
• MCSD (Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer) or similar designation preferred.
• Formal training in Peoplesoft tools considered an asset.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience working in a senior technical role related to systems analysis,
application development,/implementation and/or application design.
• Experience in assessing application technology and end user needs and recommending solutions in
accordance with Regional strategic direction and functional requirements.
• Minimum three (3) years experience in a Microsoft and/or PeopleSoft development environment with
experience in Microsoft, Oracle (Hyperion and PeopleSoft), and report writer tools (e.g. SSRS, SQR and
PeopleTools Component Design, Application Designer, Application Engine, PeopleCode, Component
Interface and Process Scheduler).
• Demonstrated experience with major application integration, implementation and upgrades.
• Experience identifying, analyzing and translating business requirements into conceptual, logical and
physical models in complex, multi-application environments
• Experience identifying and documenting data integration issues, challenges such as duplicate data, non-
conformed data and unclean data
• Experience working in a project-based team
• Experience with a government organization is beneficial

• Exceptional technical skills around Transact SQL, MS SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, XML, .NET
• Deep understanding of current technology trends and their respective impacts.
• Progressive technical knowledge and knowledge of best practices in Information Technology service
delivery such as SDLC, PMBOK, COBIT and ITIL
• Possess working knowledge of servers and operating systems, personal computers, networking, internet
technologies and emerging technologies.
• Knowledgeable of and ability to apply and interpret Regional IT standards, policies and procedures.
Analytical & Problem Solving:
• Demonstrated group leadership skills to effectively liaise with clients, determine needs, make
recommendations and market new ideas and applications to senior management.

recommended solution.
