2. JUST A MINUTE
Rules of the TV show
https://youtu.be/-YF9o692Cgc
Speak on a subject for 60 seconds without
* hesitation
* repetition
* deviation
At anytime one participant can challenge the speaker.
If the challenge is correct, they gain a point, if not, the speaker gains a point and
continues with the subject.
They can repeat the subject on the card.
The person speaking as the buzzer / alarm goes off is the winner.
In class, depending on the students’ level, you would probably use only
the ‘ hesitation ’ and deviation rules.

3. BLOCKBUSTERS
Rules of the TV show
https://youtu.be/kvT2qMdPMX4
A solo player competes against a family pair.
Each team competes to find words beginning with a given
letter according to the definitions the host gives.
Each team must link the 2 sides of a square (left – right or
top – bottom) to win the round.
In class, you can put students in teams, and adapt the definitions and
proposed letters to their levels.

4. CALL MY BLUFF
Rules of the game:
Choose weird words with their definition.
Put the students into teams and give each team a word
(and its definition!).
They have to come up with 2 other definitions.
The second team decides which definition is the correct
one.
(they should use modal verbs of deduction: it can’t be… it
could be… it must be… )

10. PHONETIC DOMINOES
It’s probably better to explain / teach a few phonetic symbols before you play this
game, just simple words the students can pronounce well.
