EMPLOYMENT OVERVIEW
I have spent most of my working life as a vocational trainer in the marine
industry teaching sailing, power boating and jet skiing with a strong focus on
customer service and attention to detail in a competency based assessment
environment. Due to the inherent risks of working on the waterways I must
always be highly organised with preparation and safety being key priorities.
My previous responsibilities in administrative roles whilst at the Royal
Queensland Yacht Squadron and Yachting Queensland have included tasks
such as website creation, database management, staff development and payroll
administration. I have also been exposed to auditing, marketing, funding and
sponsorship application writing as well as the development of risk assessments,
learning and assessment tools and Marine Queensland's Safe Boating
Workbook.
Whilst employed as the Boat Safe Manager at Yachting Queensland I was
responsible for the screening and approval of up to 100 Boat Safe Training
Providers operating across Queensland both in high schools and a commercial
marine environment.
As the Training and Compliance Manager at Yachting Queensland I was
appointed as the project manager of Yachting Australia's Tackers program
which was successfully launched after I recruited and trained both instructors
and club managers at sailing clubs throughout Queensland.
I have a passion for training, a life long commitment to learning and seek to
further my career with a forward thinking highly successful organisation.
