1. Why should you invest in me?
Iv found a niche in the market the simplicity of the logo but the way that the
name appeals to people of all socio economic status because of the flip on the
two fonts in the brand name. The names meaning Classified which has a few
2. different meanings such as exclusive so that not many people will have it making
it a desired item or brand, could mean the way someone comes across as classy
so well dressed. In the dictionary it says arranged or distributed according to
class or designating the parts of a publication that contains advertisements or
lists arranged by category, this is used in relevance to the way I want to advertise
my product because its aimed at a certain demographic but because of the
sophistication of the text it could be aimed higher if the person thinks the
demographic is them.
What I am going to do with the money?
I am going to invest the money in paying for the printing of the first batch of t-
shirts and to pay for the advertising of a poster I will be putting in a few
magazines aimed at the demographic of people I would see wearing my clothes
In the process of designing my t-shirt I had to think of the style which I thought
would sell the most and there are 3 styles of plain t-shirt I had the decision
between Crew neck, V neck & Crew neck with a pocket
3. After looking at the designs I came to the conclusions of using the crew neck t-
shirt which is the most recognised and simple but effective t-shirt to use.
Originally I was going to buy a bulk amount of t-shirts either branded champion,
fruit of the loom or American apparel and then have them screen printed. I
realised that this process was quite long winded in dealing with two sources so
tried to search for a company that would do both. Stocking the t-shirts and print
it for me, paying that little extra would turn out positive.
After looking at different company’s I found fire label merchandisingwho can
give you a quote ofthe work you want done if you explain how you want it. I was
able to instead of have it screen printed on have the brand name embroidered
into the t-shirt which makes it look more professional and better quality as
prints can fade off after a few washes.
4. Campaign I took inspiration from
Have someone wearing a Carhartt product
Carhartt is a very well known brand for their quality of material and product as it
is used by a lot of company’s as work uniform for their staff.
Their Clothing is a bit more expensive than the RRP of my product but a good
brand to take a look at as they focus on their advertising a lot because of the
different demographics of people they aim their product at. They sponsor a lot of
different sports stars such as skateboarders, BMX’ers which keeps their brand on
the face of these extreme sportsman in the photo shoots they do and people will
notice the products, as well as this they have two brands within themselves
which is just standard carhartt which is the standard clothing for workers etc but
there is also Carhartt WIP (work in progress) which is the more fashion based
clothing.
The advertising campaign I particularly picked was for their 2012 both
Spring/Summer & Fall/Winter collections which was all drawn by the illustrator
SHOHEI from Tokyo who is an incredibly talented artist who drew these pictures
with only a ballpoint pen and marker which adds to the ridiculous intricacy of
the drawings. When I first looked at them I thought it was a photo which had
been edited to look like a drawing. What I like about the posters is the simplicity
of the photos the colours are all basic on the white background the brand name
stands out a lot, I will use the simplicity in my product
As part of the advertising campaign they made a series of videos showing the
illustrator drawing the posters which were used in the campaign, this is how I
5. discovered that they were actually drawn. This adds to the campaign and
advertises the illustrator himself, The part which makes the campaign so
interesting and eye catching is the way that it looks like a models photo shoot
and they have still subliminally the brands clothes on the drawings of the
models, In the video you can see that purposely they have emphasized on the
brand logo when he rubs it out a few times to draw your attention to the badge
but it looks like a mistake the artist has made.
How I am bettering the Carhartt is through price, I will be a lot cheaper but
still having a top quality product.
Have people standing of the target audience I am aiming at
Wearing branded clothing
My product is going to be aimed at people of the age group that I can judge and
know the most about which is the one which myself personally would fit into
which is Male 16-25. This age group is seen as what is hip and young so aiming at
this demographic is the best to because even people above the age can still be
interested in the product because the product will still be suitable for them.
One of the ways that I am going to make it obvious what age it is being aimed at
is in the advertising poster the model is going to be of the age of 18-20. The
product is not being aimed at females because the brand is just starting off so a
female collection may come in time but at the moment just want to release the
male products but it seems to be in fashion that some girls wear boys t-shirts, its
not a large amount but still makes it open to them and if the brand blows up then
it will be something they would want to be seen wearing.
Because of the RRP of the product it is straight away put into a certain socio
economic catergory because the high end section, so the professionals will be
buying top brand designer clothing not t-shirts of this price. The product isnt
cheap so cannot be bottom scale but leaves itself in the middle part, which makes
it appealable to a wider variety of people, which means more people buying and
more profits.

the brand continuous, after seeing how the first release goes I will continue
8. putting advertisements in different male fashion magazines and other genres
which fit the target audience such as skateboarding, graffiti& music.
