2. EVENT CONCEPTION – PLANNING - PRODUCTION – DETAILS OF SELECTED EVENTS
Launch Party: Two Week-Long LOS ANGELES CULTURAL DINING TOUR with 60 Participating Restaurants.
Coordinated and secured event location; The Kitchen Academy, 20 restaurants, secured guest chef Tommy
Tang, press, marketing, City of LA and sponsors for press conference announcing the CDT at The Kitchen
Academy. I discovered the Kitchen Academy, made the pitch to them, identified chefs, a portion of
participating restaurants, invited media, organized the video and photo shoot, wrote the script, did the
decoration for the event [ using flowers and vegetables] I negotiated for everything - had a minimal budget of
3,000 for this launch party.
Awards Gala and Closing Party LOS ANGELES CULTURAL DINING TOUR
Awards party for 400 VIPs in West Hollywood at Oasis. Booked venue, hired bands, designed menu, décor,
negotiated budget, secured sponsors, secured celebrity talent, created invites, oversaw email blasts, hired
video crew, oversaw edit of event shoot, and much more.
LA CULTURAL DINING TOUR TV Pilot: Six Chef, Six Cultures
Dining Tour and 7 Segments showcasing charismatic LA based chefs from Mexico, Italy, Greece, Tibet, India
and Ethiopia. Wrote, produced and directed on location interviews, cooking competition, and jury including:
Velvet Margarita LA’s hottest Mexican Club, Tibet Nepal House – Chef Karma – Ex Monk and Dalai Lama Acolyte, I
Nirvana – Chef Sahai – 5 Star Indian Chef of Beverly Hills hottest Indian club.
CRLA <California Rural Legal Assistance> GALA AT THE BEVERLY HILTON
Conceptualized collaterals for event, secured celebrity host Carlos Mencia and honorees Cheech Marin and artist Frank
Romero. I convinced George Lopez to do V/O for videos. Conceptualized and supervised collateral and web site with
graphic designers. Secured and organized artists for live and silent auction, contacted sponsors, [media, commercial,
and corporate donors] Wrote script, found VO artists, organized very successful silent and live auction. Did e-blasts,
marketing strategy and incentives; producing a sold-out event in worst economy since 1939.
LBA <Latin Business Association>GALA HONORING MAYOR VILLARAIGOSA IN BEL AIR
Event Producer/Planner for Black tie Gala for 600 VIP’s – brought in corporate sponsors, Long Beach Latino Art
Museum, collaborators, designers, artists, musicians, celebrities for an eight hour-long Wolfgang Puck catered
event. Event began at 5pm with cocktails, 6 amenity tents representing different Latin countries, and ended at
2am- entertainment consisted of two bands, two live dance performances and award presentations to three
honorees. Hugely successful, this was an oversold event at 500.00 per person.
CENTURY 21 SOUTHCOAST CHRISTMAS GALA
Event Producer/Planner for Cocktail Gala and After oarty at a private estate in Tustin for 400 clients and friends of real
estate mogul. Conceived event from A-Z. Hired and oversaw staff for four-tent extravaganza. Oversaw décor, service
staff, hired artists, bands, live dance performers, coordinated alcohol sponsors, cigar rollers, and more.
JUVENILE DIABETES RESEARCH FOUNDATION
Produced and directed eight (8) fundraising videos. Walk For a Cure, Donor, Patient/Recipient, and Corporate Sponsor
and celebrity Honoree Videos , including Garth Brooks, Kevin Kline, and Mary Tyler Moore.
