After focusing on sociolinguistics and first language acquisition during my graduate and post-doctoral years, then working for a government laboratory and in industry as a computational linguist, I started a third phase of my career a decade ago when I brushed off my Spanish (and occasionally, French) and became a language instructor. Currently I am combining the fruits of my multiple careers to write a book about Hispanic linguistics. ☛ "¿Por qué? 101 Questions about Spanish" will be published in 2016 by Bloomsbury Academic Press.
