Principles
6. Principles
Offensive moment
Penetration: Advancing the ball pass
opposing players by shooting,
dribbling, passing or exploiting
2vs1,1vs1 situations
Depth: Supporting teammates by
reading the game, providing secure
communication, creating safe options
to advancement and gain a numerical
advantage
Width: Attacking on a broad front to
stretch the opponent’s defend and
create space
Mobility: Creating attacking
opportunities through changes in
positions, ball movements and
creating numerical advantages
Creativity: Individual flair in the forms
of take -ons, overlaps, diagonal runs
and blind side runs
7. Principles
Defensive moment
Delay: Slowing down the attack by
closing the gaps and denying space,
allowing the defences to organise Depth: Assist the defends by providing
communication, reading the attack and
creating numerical superiority, occupied
the field closing the width and depth
channels
Balance: Reading the match and
providing an equal or higher number of
attackers while simultaneously cover
our goal Concentration: Comprising the attack
into a confined area by reducing the
distance between our lines
Composure: Showing the patience to
delay and wait for support plus having
the discipline and order to deny the
goal opportunities

Transitions
Most of our team
is at the opponent
half and we want
to recover the ball
ASAP so, we
make a high
pressure.
The 2 closer
players of our
team to the ball,
go pressing,
giving time to the
rest of the team to
be back on shape.
Opponent is not
at their defensive
shape, so we try
to use the free
space ASAP.
Opponent is at
their defensive
shape, so we try
to create and use
a free space
(switch side, inner
pass, etc.)
14. Idea of Play(Example)
-With the ball:
We play to have the ball as much as possible, control the game by controlling the
time and space, playing from the back, progression line by line, creating spaces,
looking for occupied the free space and used with dynamic support and smart
movements
-Without the ball:
Without the ball, we wait at the 3/4 line of our opponent, with our lines in a
space no less or 15m no more than 25m, we mark on the zone, with help and
covers from lines.
We defend towards the ball
15. -Transition defend-attack:
If we recover the ball in our half, we play from the back, following our
philosophy, only if the lines of the other team are not ready, we can try to
launch a quick counter-attack. If we recover the ball in the midfield zone, we
will look for a pass to the other side at the back of the defend and try to finish
ASAP.
-Transition attack-defend :
If we lose the ball in the finalisation zone, the two closest players do a total
pressure, to give time to our midfield and defend to organise the lines in the
3/4 line, the ball is the reference, it means that we are not going to much back
creating a big gap between the first line of pressure and the second one, we
defend towards the ball. Loss the ball in the midfield, all the players, around
do the pressure; only the defends adopted the line.
Loss the ball near to our goal, all the players, around must press
Idea of Play
16. Collective and individual actions
repeated with regularity (not always)
during the game
Our players respond
efficiently, quickly and
coordinated in a
specific situation

tactic understanding but strong and fast
players, a long ball from the keeper or
defensive line, less time as possible in
