Job Description
GEM Energy is searching for an energetic professional to join our growing team as VP of Sales. You will be part of
the passionate and entrepreneurial GEM Energy team where you will direct sales management and business
development professionals to identify and consult with prospects, maintain relationships with existing clients, to
help them identify opportunities that improve their business and operations. Responsibilities include directing the
sales management and business development teams across multiple offices to sell comprehensive energy
solutions, combined heat & power systems, solar projects and HVAC solutions in a variety of business sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Effectively hire and lead sales managers and business development professionals
Work with business line leads and marketing to develop company sales strategy
Work with sales teams to develop sales targets
Develop and monitor sales standards for sales organization
Develop and enhance sales process
Manage, monitor and review key metrics and report on activity against targets
Remain current on industry trends and methods
Ability to clearly demonstrate and explain multi-faceted financial value proposition to clients, including
complex financial return on investment models
Broad understanding of Energy Efficiency, Distributed Generation or HVAC solutions and the ability to
develop and articulate their value propositions
Provide leadership, strategy support and direction to move opportunities through the sales cycle and
customer purchasing process efficiently and effectively
Track business development opportunities and provide timely reports using in-house CRM system
Availability to travel regionally up to 50%
Skills
Strong sales management experience and the ability to motivate others.
Experience in analyzing and reporting sales data using a CRM system.
High activity level and the ability to multi-task.
Effectively communicate important sales milestones.
Motivated to achieve goals and customer satisfaction with excellent communication skills.
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, engineering or related fields required with MBA preferred
5+ years of proven experience in sales management role
Experience analyzing sales trends
Understanding of financial management, business investment and budget planning
