PROBLEM
Health care standards has increased significantly in the Indian subcontinent in last few decades but
people living in rural areas and slums are still living with substandard health provisions.
Considering Personal-Family-Community Hygiene & Health as most important part of healthy living Jyoti
Social Foundation took the initiative to educate children & families to create awareness. As bad practice
and lower standards of basic hygiene leads to diarrhea, typhoid, respiratory tract infections such
as pneumonia or bronchitis, chronic sinus infections, postnasal drip, diabetes, chronic acid reflux,
and liver or kidney problems it is very important to create the awareness about the best hygiene practices
and enlighten the various aspects of personal, family and community hygiene.
“Summer Health & Hygiene Awareness Programme” was directed mainly for the children’s of slums as
they suffer a lot due to lack of awareness, uneducated parents and substandard hygiene practices.
Hardly parents care to educate children to wash hands properly; brush regularly, drink plenty water and
hardly they wash vegetables and utensils properly.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
