SPINNER WAVELENGTH SHRINKING I STRETCHING
Advancing radiofrequency technology begins with challenging the limitations of state-of-the-art solutions. Aiming to create value-adding innovation for our customers, this approach has inspired us to develop novel structures based on coaxial technology that allows us to change fundamental properties of wave propagation by manipulating its dispersion characteristics.
SWS - SPINNER Wavelength Shrinking I Stretching opens unprecedented opportunities
and lays a completely novel foundation for innovative RF components overcoming the limitations
of conventional designs. The outstanding capabilities which our SWS technology
features encompass:
Shrinking Passive RF Gomponents
I The size of most RF components depend on the wavelength which is usually
determined by the operating frequency via: lambda = c/f (c = velocity of light)
SWS shrinks the wavelength at the given operating frequency thus allowing reduction of size
Tailoring Dispersion Relations
I Conventional wavelength-dependent coaxial structures only work at a given frequency
and odd multiples of it owing to the rigorous relation between frequency and wavelength
> SWS enables flexible dual-band use of a component as it allows bending
of the relation between frequency and wavelength
Generating Pass Bands and Stop Bands
> SWS structures can be designed to support frequency selectivity as it
renders possible to generate pass bands and/or stop bands
Overcoming Thermal Limitations of Power Rating
I Insufficient heat transfer from inner to outer conductor owing to low thermal
conductivity of dielectrics restricts power handling capability of rigid line
components
> SWS strongly increases thermal coupling of inner and outer conductor
Suspending Higher Order Mode Disturbance
I Cut-off frequencies of higher order modes (HOM) limit the usable frequency
range and the maximum transversal dimension of a rigid line component,
respectively
> SWS can create wide monomodal TEM bands above HOM cut-off
frequencies by introducing band gaps disabling HOM propagation
and thus allowing "over-moded" operation w/o any HOM disturbance

We are convinced that the most valuable
pieces of innovation are generated
when we work together with our
customers.

advancing your RF system by means of
SWS technology.
