This document summarizes why the photo editing service Pics.io is needed. It explains that while most people share photos taken on phones or cameras to social media in JPEG format, shooting in RAW format allows for better editing and higher quality photos. However, editing RAW photos requires expensive software that deters many non-photographers from using it. Pics.io aims to simplify the RAW editing process by allowing users to turn photos into masterpieces through a web browser without any software installation, and also provides cloud backup for photo collections.

yeah? And that's what most of the people store on their hard drives
and share to Facebook, Flickr etc.

3. And that's what he was able to make from it just because shoot
in Raw instead of JPEG.

5. So why does a majority of people
don't use Raw today?
Getting perfect shots is a pretty complicated
process. It also relies on some expensive
software. Registration, purchasing and
installation of that software is an extra
complexity that stops most of the people.
We decided to take the complexity away.
