11. Yandex.WordStat Match Types
If comparing to Google, the default match type in Yandex.WordStat is equivalent to Google’s phrase
match. This means that search volumes in Yandex keyword tool will include impressions for all queries
containing all words of your key phrase in any order, in all forms, including plural.
soup soup
soups
mushroom soup
beetroot soup
leek and potato soup
tomato soup…
Yandex, unlike Google, refers to match types as ‘operators’.
12. Yandex.WordStat Match Types

target word.

! (operator ‘exclamation mark’) displays results for an individual word in its exact form
This operator is applied in front of each word in a keyword in order to exclude any of its word forms
appearing in the results.
When applied, Yandex.WordStat will only display statistics for the keyword in exact match.

cases etc.) To get search volume that does not include close variants, use:
“ ” and ! in front of each word of your key phrase
= Google’s exact match!
15. Yandex.WordStat Match Types
— (the ‘minus’ operator). This operator is used in order to exclude certain words from appearing in
keyword suggestions. When applied, a space should be put before the operator. For example, if you type
computer –repair in the keyword field, the results you receive will only include all keywords containing the
word ‘computer’ and exclude any appearance of the word ‘repair’.
+ (operator ‘plus’). This operator is used to forcefully include prepositions in keywords. Yandex.Wordstat
ignores stop-words, such as prepositions, but sometimes prepositions can influence search volumes. For
example, the total number of impressions for products for cars will be the same as for car products.
If the preposition for is crucial to your search, then you should enter the following: products +for cars.
All forms of this Stop-word will be included in the search.
For example, there are two prepositions that can be
used in Russian in a key phrase tickets to London:
