I am looking for a career to which I can dedicate myself. I bring a great work ethic, a "can do"

 Administrative: Adeptly handled administrative matters including screening calls, managing
calendars, planning meetings, composing documents and organizing offices for efficiency.

 New patient intakes including capturing all current demographics and insurance information.
 Verified insurance information and obtained the appropriate referrals and authorizations so that
patients could receive behavioral health care.
 Took patient calls and logged information and corresponded with psychiatrists as needed. Relayed
psychiatrists' responses to patients as needed.
 Took all prescription refill requests, verified their necessity and then loaded the requests into a
program for the doctors to review and send to pharmacies.
 Logged and filed all paper prescriptions for controlled substances and called patients for pick up
once signed by their psychiatrist.
 Lead in taking the psychiatry practice at this clinic from paper record to electronic. Developed
procedures and protocol for the change and shared with other psychiatric staff at other clinics.
 Trained and developed a team to assist with the increased work load from the change to the
electronic record.
 Coordinated inpatient hospital stays for patients as required after outpatient visits.
 Coordinated with police and ambulance as needed for patients.
 Assisted patients in obtaining medication that was not covered by their insurance, either by
obtaining authorizations or if that failed, helping them sign up for the appropriate pharmaceutical
companies' patient assistance programs.
 Maintained schedules and cancellation lists for 7 psychiatrists and nurse practitioners.

large outpatient clinic
 Weekly cleaning of all common areas and individual offices

things as HVAC work and lights and repairs.
 Point person to contact for building maintenance for complaints and grounds issues.

Volunteer Experience
Member of the Board of Directors of Byron Community Ministries for more than 10 years, at one point
serving as the Vice President. During this term, we moved from a church basement and built a large
freestanding facility in the town of Byron Center. I was intimately involved in the planning, fundraising
and realization of this process. Also during this term, Byron Ministries’ outreach and programs
expanded hugely and it became part of the ACCESS network of food pantries.
