Current UA students, staff, and faculty of the Colleges of
Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Public Health and UA
Healthcare may use DocOrder to submit and track requests
for articles and books not owned or licensed by the library.
A PDF copy of a journal article or book chapter from the
library's print collection can also be requested through
DocOrder. Registration is required.
If an item is obtained through interlibrary loan, the PDF
copy of the journal article or book chapter is delivered to a
user’s DocOrder account.
This collection development policy is intended to
establish broadly defined principles and guidelines for
the selection, acquisition, and retention of library
information resources that comprise the collections of
the Arizona Health Sciences Library (AHSL) in Tucson and
in Phoenix. These collections together with resources of
other University of Arizona (UA) libraries are intended to
meet current and long-term information needs of the
UA as they relate to the health sciences. The guidelines
set forth in this policy serve both to guide library staff
and to inform library users.
The library’s collections are comprised of online
resources, accessible to authorized users from the point
of need, and of print and media resources located in
either Tucson or Phoenix. Materials may be
permanently or temporarily included in the collections
and may be circulating or non-circulating at the library’s
discretion.
To print to the PBC Library printers, use
the Web Print interface at
http://print.phoenixmed.arizona.edu.
Web Print can be accessed from any
device (i.e., mobile phone, tablet/iPad,
laptop, computer, etc.) connected to
the Internet. With Web Print, no
drivers are installed, and no
modifications are done to your laptop.
Web Print uses a simple web site to
submit your print jobs from within the
library or off campus.

Electronic Resources
NAU Cline Library Catalog
Cline Library has no formal collection development policy.
Strategies for acquisitions include:
• Whenever possible, the library licenses e-content rather
than purchasing print books so resources are available to
the most students at one time and are accessible 24/7
from any location.
• Cline Library acquires resources that supplement course
materials and curriculum rather than holding copies of
required course textbooks.
• The library practices “just in time” over “just in case”
acquisitions. If a requested item not currently owned
meets a set of purchase criteria, it may be acquired by the
library.
• Resource selection decisions are informed by cost and
usage metrics.
• Critical evaluation of resources, in collaboration with
faculty, ensures funds are focused on resources closely
aligned with curricular and scholarly needs and honor
university priorities.
