1. "My history with Dish Express goes back to 1999. I had worked both as an
employee and as a contractor for a period of almost 10 years. During that
time, Kathy was responsible for payroll, inventory, and almost all day-to-
day activities as it pertained to personnel. She managed the office and
customer support team, handling customer inquiries and sales. Kathy was
instrumental in the growth of Dish Express, and as a result, I was able to
grow from an employee to a contractor that managed a territory with 16
subcontractors working for me. My territory in Northern Illinois averaged 80
jobs per day; Kathy managed several other contractors like me in other
parts of the state.
Kathy was a huge reason that Dish Express was a successful and growing
company. She was the main point of contact with Dish Network and
developed a strong relationship with Corporate in a sometimes difficult
work environment where service was expected to be given 24/7/365.
In addition to managing customer service, sales and contractors, Kathy
also had to ensure all employees and contractors were paid in full and on
time. This task was particularly difficult in a service industry where
payment claims were sometimes disputed by Corporate. In one instance,
Dish Express was not paid by Dish Network on time. Kathy took it upon
herself to get all contractors a partial payment until the situation could be
resolved with Dish Network.
In all of my years associated with Dish Express, I found Kathy to be
extremely knowledgeable about the satellite industry. As a business
owner, she was ethical and treated employees and contractors with
respect. Her ability to multi task in a stressful environment was
