I enjoy getting students enthusiastic about the research process, which is really about reading, evaluating, and synthesizing information in order to broaden one's perspective on the world. Librarians are classic Renaissance people: interested in everything while being critical thinkers able to separate quality information and sift through bias and propaganda. I hope to generate both curiosity and healthy skepticism in my students, whether teaching database searching or Brazilian music. Favorite teaching moment: introducing samba dance, Portuguese, and Brazilian music to a colleague's Humanities class.
