This document outlines the agenda and activities for a group retrospective workshop. The goals of the workshop are to celebrate achievements, review operational performance over the last 4 sprints, identify areas for improvement, and plan 2-4 improvement initiatives for the next 2 weeks. The agenda includes activities for setting ground rules, reviewing achievements and identifying patterns in events and emotions over time, analyzing root causes of issues, planning tasks for improvement, and providing feedback on the retrospective process.

GOALS OF THE SESSION
• To celebrate achievements of the last several months.
• To openly discuss and review operational performance of the last 4
sprints.
• To identify undesirable effect and their root causes.*
• To discover our strength and what we do well.
• To identify areas of improvement.
• To plan 2-4 improvement initiatives that can be implemented in the
next 2 weeks.
* For sure, we will not be able to address everything today, but we will have enough
to come up with couple of things to do for the next time.

RETROSPECTIVE WORKING
AGREEMENT
• We focus on learning, discovering and fixing.
• We will not blame, point figure.
• We will focus on the achieving the goals.
• And we agree to remove distractions: Mobiles off or on silence, and No Emailing
• We focus on understanding each other and have dialog and healthy conversation.
• We have break approximately every 90 min.
• We write in capital letter, or in a way that others can read cards or sticky notes!

TIMELINE OF EVENTS• Time-boxed: 35 min
• Team size: 4 people
• Try to work with your day to day colleague. Such as POs together, Dev/QA Together and etc. (if not possible you can
create cross function teams)
• Let’s capture memorable events that happened in the last 4 iterations
• The goal is to see different perspectives, so do not worry about reaching consensus on what was memorable.
• Write them on Sticky notes and put them on each iteration.
• Yellow Sticky: People or Team Related or Communication Related ; Pink Sticky: Tools, technology Related ; Green
Sticky: Process or Organisation Related
• Try to write the memorable events as an observer without pointing finger, and without emotion:
• Pointing Finger: : Kaveh wrote bad quality code for Time-based Publishing.
• Observing statement: We had many defects on time-based publishing / We had 20% more defects on TBS

• Find connection between events, as well as emotions
• Identify patterns: Move sticky notes around, cluster them together if
they are related to one pattern
• Identify shift - Things was going smoothly but suddenly it got crazy.
Or things was crazy and suddenly everything started to go smoothly.

Analysis of Patterns and Shifts
•Time-Boxed: 65 min
•Team of 4 to 5 people (choose to do it with your day to day
colleague or not)
•Select a pattern that you want to analyse
•Ask WHY, and Answer.
•Do it maximum 5 times, until you reach to a root cause.
•Capture all questions and answers on flipchart.
•Then, Present your analysis to the rest of the group.

RETROSPECTIVE PLANNING GAME

• In pairs, brainstorm all the tasks necessary to complete improvement
recommendations.
• Eliminate redundant tasks and fill out the gaps
• Group/Cluster tasks, and Again check for duplication
• Order tasks
• Take responsibility to execute
