What’s my
WHY?MY FUNDAMENTAL BELIEF IS that work
doesn’t have to feel like a punishment. I
believe in the power of the gig economy. I’m
anti-commute. I believe in renegade income
flow. I think best practices are often bullshit.
I don’t defy long-established processes
because I’m rebellious, I defy them because
THE BUSINESS WORLD IS BROKEN and
nobody seems bothered enough by that.
The more I can help people assert themselves
in their careers, start businesses, grow side
hustles, question the status quo and brand
themselves – the more people there will be out
there who do things differently, who listen, who
try new ideas, and who champion creativity.

The culture of
WORKA topic near & dear to me is the culture of work,
particularly in the US. Particularly, now.
Most people in this country drive to work at least 4 days
per week, at least 30 minutes in one direction. That’s an
hour (and for some, up to three hours) round-trip.
Commutes are not sustainable.
They get to work, they’re already tired & frazzled, and
they sit in a poor environment, doing a job they don’t
love, spending 60% of the day in meetings & emails, for
people who don’t appreciate them and make more
money than all their employees combined.
And a majority of those individuals DON’T feel financially
stable. A majority of those individuals maintain a side-
hustle to make bills and save for their future.

  • 3. What’s my WHY?MY FUNDAMENTAL BELIEF IS that work doesn’t have to feel like a punishment. I believe in the power of the gig economy. I’m anti-commute. I believe in renegade income flow. I think best practices are often bullshit. I don’t defy long-established processes because I’m rebellious, I defy them because THE BUSINESS WORLD IS BROKEN and nobody seems bothered enough by that. The more I can help people assert themselves in their careers, start businesses, grow side hustles, question the status quo and brand themselves – the more people there will be out there who do things differently, who listen, who try new ideas, and who champion creativity.

I take an approach to editorial design that includes keyword research, social listening, industry archaeology, competitive analyses, brand voice development, audience insights, and goal tending. We’ll empower the right words to articulate your brand, boast your best solutions, and connect with your community in a meaningful way. Let’s tell your STORY

Writing MATTERS I WRITE: • Website copy • Blog posts and articles • Journalistic think-pieces (and fluff) • Ads and landing pages • Sales copy, collateral, brochures • Email blasts, social posts, PR copy • Flyer copy, signage copy, banners • E-books, white papers, case studies • Tech copy, manuals, and how-tos • Scripts, speeches, and spoken word • Creative non-fiction, fiction, poetry • A bunch of random junk • Flashes of genius • Whatever you need written I WAS A WRITER FIRST. Before marketing got involved, before I went digital, and in a past life, I was a writer first. Linguistics, syntax, and idea-share were my first loves.
  • 6. Website MANAGEMENT I am not a developer. However, I have administrated over 500 WordPress websites (and a few dozen on those other CMS platforms) My interest in your website lies in its ability to represent your brand, speak to search engines, inform your users, and funnel their actions. If your website isn’t doing a combination of these things, it needs fixed: retooled, rewritten, redesigned, or overhauled. We can work on that.

Search Engine OPTIMIZATION Somewhere between those shoddy SEO companies who were buying links and stuffing your site five years ago and the English major who thinks she knows SEO because she’s heard of a meta description before, there’s me: DATA MOTIVATED & HUMAN-FIRST. I take an integrated approach to SEO that includes: • Keyword-focal authorship • Onpage renovations • Offpage reputation building • Local visibility, and • Long-term sustainability no matter what Google gets up to.
  • 8. CUSTOMER INSIGHTS I don’t actually care what your demographics are telling you. I don’t care what you think women or millennials or single parents in Virginia are motivated by. GIVE ME THE REAL INSIGHTS. The best way to know your audience is qualitatively through observation, polling, surveying, forums, community outreach, and conversation. We can work together to strategize your best way to target audiences human to human, reach them where they are, and meet their needs. That IS what you went in to business for, right?
  • 9. SOCIAL GROWTH There’s no special formula. The right times to post content. The frequencies. The stats about who uses which platforms in which ways. They’re worth noting, but STATISTICS AREN’T STRATEGIES. We’ll plan your social calendar and develop your engagement program around: • Qualitative consumer insights • YOUR Social proof – not someone else’s • Industry assessments • Trend monitoring, and • Human empathy
  • 10. Brand persona DEVELOPMENT Your logo is not your brand. It’s an asset OF your brand, just like your colors, typographic elements, and other visuals. Those are just the clothes your brand put on to express itself. THERE’S MORE TO YOUR STORY. Do you know WHO your brand is? What choices he or she would make? What motivates him or her? How he or she would speak to your customer, person to person? Let’s document who you are, to integrate how your employees, vendors, and marketing team represent you and maintain your mission.
  • 11. Marketing STRATEGY You’re busy running a business. You’re a start up or a small business who doesn’t have a massive marketing department. You’re an established or mid-sized business who needs consultancy to guide your budget, resources, vendors, and team toward one cohesive strategy. I’LL BUILD YOUR CUSTOM STRATEGY, AND A PLAN TO EXECUTE WITH WHAT YOU HAVE.   • 12. The culture of WORKA topic near & dear to me is the culture of work, particularly in the US. Particularly, now. Most people in this country drive to work at least 4 days per week, at least 30 minutes in one direction. That’s an hour (and for some, up to three hours) round-trip. Commutes are not sustainable. They get to work, they’re already tired & frazzled, and they sit in a poor environment, doing a job they don’t love, spending 60% of the day in meetings & emails, for people who don’t appreciate them and make more money than all their employees combined. And a majority of those individuals DON’T feel financially stable. A majority of those individuals maintain a side- hustle to make bills and save for their future. Ask me what I’m doing to shift the culture.
  • 13. Startup CONSULTING Do you want to know a secret? All those entrepreneurs, founders, and start-up hustlers you think have it all together…. DON’T! EVERYONE NEEDS HELP, SOMETIMES. All the best companies are at risk, so before you think you’re building something more stable than your freelancing counterpart, or too stable to leave for something better, think again. That doesn’t mean everyone should freelance. It means that if you want to try it, stability is not a reason not to.
