Facebook started in 2004 for only college students, then expanded to high schoolers in 2005 and everyone over 13 in 2006. It grew rapidly and became the third largest US web company, but also faced some backlash over privacy and the role social media plays in bullying. Whether praised or criticized, Facebook has become deeply ingrained in modern society.

generation and generations to come.
