1. Mediation and Investigation
Ken Grime, Principal
• Qualified mediator (since 2009 – IAMA) involved in
mediations in personal and commercial matters ranging
from ordinary disputes through to multi-million dollar
commercial causes (AON v ANU is one example)
• 30 years dispute resolution experience encompassing
all Australian courts and tribunals, some international
disputes, commercial disputes; property; employment;
insurance; discrimination and administrative tribunals
• Public sector investigations – Ombudsman or other
regulatory bodies, PIDs, employee misconduct,
querulents, research misconduct (employee or student) -
including where there are concurrent or anticipated
criminal proceedings
• Deep cross-cultural experience: senior legal roles for
Aboriginal legal bodies; advising universities for 20 years
including significant exposure to international staff and students and their particular
cultural approaches to disputation
• Variety of representation experience - acting for plaintiffs, defendants and insurers –
providing the skills to extract from parties what is fundamental to the dispute
• Special focus on discrimination and its interaction with mental health, misconduct and
bullying claims
• Low overhead practice model that facilitates the early strategic use of services, promoting
savings in cost, time and disruption
• Broader interest in the anatomy of a dispute has led Ken to qualify as a mediator and a
mindfulness practice leader
