EXPERIENCE
Senior Staff Pathologist & Cytopathologist, Quest Diagnostics
(Originally Unilab, acquired by Quest Diagnostics in 2006)
Tarzana & West Hills, CA — 1992 — Current
As the most experienced and senior cytopathologist, I act in a leadership role to
provide continuing education & quality assurance to the cytopathology team in
our group.
In my work, I have often traveled around Southern California to maintain & build
my team’s reputation for quality care, meeting with potential new clients as well
as resolving quality assurance issues with longstanding clients.
Accomplishments & Highlights
● Consistently exceeded Quest’s average pathologist work volume by
25% or more each year since 1992 while maintaining top quality & care
● Helped dramatically lower costs for casework for our laboratory over the
past 2 years by maintaining 95%+ turnaround time (reviewing new
biopsy specimens within 48 hours of receiving them).
● Improved customer satisfaction by acting as a front-line point of contact
for dissatisfied customers and directing Quest service representatives in
answering & resolving customer concerns.
● Advised cytotechnology students by reviewing casework with them
during their monthly rotations to Quest Diagnostics in West Hills.
2. Per Diem Staff Cytopathologist, Kaiser Regional Laboratories
North Hollywood, CA — 1999 — Current
My role at Kaiser of almost two decades has been in a consultant capacity, using
my advanced experience in cytopathology to help read all cytology specimens
(both gynaecological & non-gynaecological).
Accomplishments & Highlights
● Played a key role in reviewing casework from Harbor-UCLA Medical
Center that rotated to Kaiser on a monthly basis.
● Advised three other full-time cytopathologists with helping diagnose
difficult casework and resolve arising issues.
● Helped fulfill overflow casework by working irregular hours to maintain
the group’s standard of high quality and fast deliveries.
