Job Role: Working as an Instrumentation Engineer within their E & I maintenance
division with core responsibilities associated to all maintenance relevant activities on their
diversified fertilizer and power manufacturing unit.
My scope of responsibilities includes:
Managerial:-
Directing and controlling the daily planning and execution of all maintenance-
related activities
Controlling and managing staff in a manner that meets maintenance KPIs.
Provide leadership and technical guidance for maintenance performance
improvement.
Performing duties as a part of special task force for the improvement of process
safety at entire site, based on the PSM (Process Safety Management) system from
DuPont and OSHA.
Active member of multiple safe operations committees, like safety talks, hazard
identification, HORC etc.
Conduct PSSR, PHA, MOC, RCA, IRR, JSA RIR studies and provide guideline in
developing control narratives, ESD logics, etc.
Perform and review detail engineering activities like preparation of data sheets /
specifications, material requisitions, purchase requisitions for all instrumentation
items like control valves, DCS an ESD spares, field instruments, flow meters, etc.
Prepared preventive maintenance plans, work instructions and history record
protocol
Comprehensive planning and scheduling of I & C works for major turnarounds and
short shutdowns. Responsibilities included daily job planning, arrangement of
resources required by the technical team, job supervision, quality assurance, and
daily progress monitoring.

Configuration of new Woodward Atlas II GTG Fuel Controller using Control

CLEAN DEVELOPMENT MECHANISM PROJECTS (United Nations Project):
CDM (Clean Development Mechanism) is a United Nations’ global project and is meant for
the abatement of N2O gas (Green House Gas) and NOx gases, thus it avoids ozone
depletion. I worked in collaboration with Mitsubishi Corporation Japan, Muller BBM,
DURAG Germany and ABB K.K. Japan during up gradation of CDM Methodology from
AM0028 to ACM0019 in order to ensure the quality compliance by following the European
quality standard EN14191. Followings are the major instrumented systems installed at the
plant;
ABB AO2020 URAS 26 & LIMAS 11 UV for N2O and NOX Analyzers.
QAL1 Certified Stack gas outflow meters
DURAG D-EMS 2000, DATA LOGGING SYSTEM for CER Calculations.
QAL2 (Quality Assurance Level 2) Certification
CDM Audits:-
Maintenance of all records pertaining to United Nations CDM requirements.
Present all maintenance records to DNV auditor in order to verify correct reading
of instruments.

Completed Due Diligence Study of DH Fertilizers Limited for Instrumentation and Control
System in just one month with Zero review of report and recommendations and
presented it to upper management. The task assigned to instrument team comprising of
two members including me is to cover the assessment of all plant instrumentation, to
develop replacement strategy with justification, 5 year projects budget breakdown, study
history records on AS-400, Monthly Reports and ATA reports from 2001-2011, review
spare parts status, Proposed revenue budget for next 5 years based on consumption
pattern of instruments, evaluate technical competency of the workers, physical/visual
inspection. Finally to come up with total health assessment of the plant and identify what
need to be done to make the plant machines equipment, safe and reliable for smooth
