The upgraded version adds material richness, refinement and polish making it more
palatable for all ages.
The car has a new platform based on that of the larger ‘Kia Cee’d’ hatchback with a more
rigid body, upgraded suspension and steering arrangements to provide a more
comfortable ride, better handling and improved sound insulation for a quieter cabin.
The New Soul is slightly larger with more passenger room, upgraded interior fixtures and
fittings and features DAB radio, 8in colour ‘Sat-Nav’ and auto-dipping xenon headlights.
Available in petrol only 1.6 litre and 2.0 litre six-speed manual or automatic transmission.
It still under-delivers on character relative to the exterior styling but the quality and finish
of the Kia is up to the current class standard.
The Soul’s chassis has been modified to appeal to the tastes of the youthful customers
who bought the first-generation car. The driving position is upright and directionally
responsive to steering.
Overall, you’d say Kia has made some of the changes needed in order to turn the Soul into
proper competition for the burgeoning new ‘B-SUV’ set.

success than many of the bandwagon entrants it’s suddenly up

from the Kia Cee’d, so it’s bigger than its predecessor, but the
angular styling remains.
The Kia Soul never really hit it off with buyers. The second-generation
model is bigger, bolder and more practical than ever
so it should be second time lucky.
