Impact Resistant Glass & Windshield Technology
Every windshield uses this technology but to a lesser degree.
When a windshield cracks it does not shatter because of the 4
mil film that is baked between two layers of glass. This film
technology is what Shatter Shield uses with the exception of the
strength. Shatter Shield Security Film is 8 mils thick, twice as
thick as windshield film and twice as strong.
Shatter Shield Security Film is a thin, clear polyester film
laminated to the interior surface of your windows or glass
doors. Engineered with powerful adhesives, the film reduces the
hazards associated with broken glass by holding dangerous glass
shards to the film surface and helping to keep a broken window
pane within it’s frame.

Security and Safety film is 8 MIL thick. A Dow Corning 995 Attachment System will be used.
Dow Corning 995 silicone structural sealant is a one-component, self-priming, shelf-stable, neutral-cure, elastomeric
adhesive specifically formulated for silicone structural glazing and exhibits excellent unprimed adhesion to most build-
ing substrates. This product has superior unprimed adhesion for structural glazing applications for hurricane or impact
rated windows and doors. It has a movement capability of +/- 50%.
