This is a 10-year work in progress. We are already seeing results of this vision.
We are pleased to report that on August 2, the Arizona Department of Education announced Chandler Unified School District has earned an “A” grade. Chandler Unified is one of only 23 districts to earn the top grade, and one of only 11 districts to earn the grade in both of the years of the state’s Arizona LEARNS letter grade accountability program. We have always believed that the performance of our high schools is a capstone of our combined efforts beginning in elementary school and continuing to junior high and high school. So we are pleased to report that all four comprehensive high schools, Basha , Chandler , Hamilton and Perry has earned an “A” grade. To see the grades for all of our schools, please hover over the school name below.
We are the only public school district in the state of Arizona with multiple high schools that had all of our high schools receive an A letter grade. Furthermore, out of 204 comprehensive high schools that received letter grades Hamilton’s total letter grade point value ranked 4 th , Perry’s ranked 9 th , Chandler’s ranked 16 th and Basha’s ranked 22 nd . This places all of our high schools in the top 11% of graded comprehensive high schools throughout the state of Arizona.
2012-2013 Hamilton High Ranked No. 1 Comprehensive Neighborhood High School
CTA Liberty – No. 6 Ranked in the whole state of AZ– All Schools not just Elementary (More than 1545)
Overall, 65% (26) of the CUSD schools received an A. Maricopa County –32.11 , State – 24.58. This far outpaces the percentages of schools in Maricopa county that received an A and the percentage of schools in the state of Arizona that received an A. In addition 34 schools in CUSD received an A or B grade.
CUSD has ranked high in parent satisfaction—way above the national average and state average, and we have been steadily improving. The 24% relates to perceptions of public schools in America.
Two CUSD schools earned the A+ Schools of Excellence by the Arizona Educational Foundation. CUSD schools have received this distinction 49 times since 1983.
Classroom expenditures does not include many costs associated with instruction. Counselors, librarians, front office staff, security, transportation, crossing guards, and even utilities are not included in this formula.
Enables the district to exceed per student capita funding by up to 10%. As a renewal it would not increase the tax rate.
