The Easy .edu Backlinking Process
# Done Activity
1 Go sign up at http://www.academia.edu/signup
2 Enter “First Name”
3 Enter “Last Name”
4 Enter “Email”
5 Enter “Password”
6 Select “Independent Researcher”
7 Begin typing in the “Research Area” and see suggestions
8 Select a topic for the “Research Area” (use your targeted keyword if possible)
9 Click “Sign Up”
10 “Add Research Interest” by typing in keywords and look at suggestions
11 When done, click “Save and Continue”
12 Check for Facebook friends that are already on Academia.
13 When done, click “Save and Continue”
14 Next, you can check for friends via email. Complete this step or click “Skip this Step”
15 Search for articles related to your interest or click “Skip this Step”
16 Click on the name of your blog in the upper right corner.
