7. Support for SMEs to evaluate innovative medical
technologies

Funding
The Office for Life Sciences (OLS) in partnership with Innovate
UK is to invest up to £1 million to support developers of
innovative medicines, medical devices, diagnostics and
regulated digital technology to evaluate their product in a real
world clinical setting.

9. Improving Health Through Digital Innovations

Funding
Innovate UK has up to £8 million to invest in new technologies
through the digital health technology catalyst. The catalyst was
set up under the government’s Industrial Strategy Challenge
Fund to address challenges around the development of digital
health innovations.

10. Digital Health Technology Catalyst Round 2

Funding
Funded through the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund, the Digital
Health Technology Catalyst (DHTC) is a £35 million fund, being run over
4 years. The DHTC is an important element of the government’s plans to
implement the Accelerated Access Review (AAR).

12. Connected and Autonomous Vehicles Simulation:
Collaborative R&D

The Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CCAV), in
partnership with Innovate UK, is investing up to £15 million in industry-
led projects. These will use holistic simulation and modelling systems to
develop approval mechanisms and standards.

GovStart is a sixth-month growth-programme to help tech startups
transform the public sector. Startups of a variety of sizes and industry
focuses are welcomed to apply. The programme will provide them with
