work in and what do you do? 
Government Affairs - Advising 
the Aztec Student Union Board 
is not a job, but a privilege and 
a passion! The students are the 
heart of our roles. 
3. How many years have you 
worked for A.S.? 
DB: 3.5 years 
YK: 1.5 years 
4. If you won $5 million what 
would you do with it? 
DB: Pay off student loans, buy 
a house for my parents, 
charitable donaons to my 
alma maters, travel through 
Daphney and Yevgeniya “Yevy” 
Europe and invest the rest. 
YK: Travel the world, support my family in their dreams, start a 
college savings account for my future kids and invest in my dream 
staonary shop to spread happiness around the world! 
5. What is your favorite dessert? 
DB: Ice cream! Cool refreshing treat to end a meal or enjoy for a 
snack. 
YK: Cronuts, wonuts, filled donuts! I am onto this craze! 
6. What city would you most like to visit or visit again? 
YK: The Greek Islands are on the top of my list of places to visit! 
My name is Greek, I love their food and I’ve wanted to go since 
watching the “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” in 2005. 
DB: Monaco! I want to experience the beauful beaches along 
the Mediterranean Sea. 
7. Would you rather build a sandcastle or a snowman? 
DB: Sandcastle. It reminds me of 4th of July with my family in 
Oceanside. 
YK: Snowman. It reminds me of my 
childhood growing up in Ukraine. 
8. If you could go back or forward in me, 
where would you go? 
YK: I wish I could go back in me to meet 
my grandmother, Ada. She was an 
honorable doctor in Ukraine who passed 
away at an early age from an 
unfortunate brain surgery. Everyone 
always says I look a lot like her and 
emulate her character. 
9. Who is your favorite singer / musician / 
musical group? 
DB: My favorite music producer is Calvin 
Harris. His music makes me dance 
whenever I hear it. 
10. What is your favorite book? 
DB: “Tuesdays with Morrie” by Mitch Albom is a reminder to 
celebrate life and live the most excellent dash mark. 
YK: “The House of the Spirits” by Isabel Allende. I had the privilege 
of meeng the author at USC and she is as powerful, capvang 
and creave as her wring! 
11. Who is your favorite individual athlete? 
DB: One of my favorite athletes is the late 
Jerry Coleman. Anyone who gives back to 
his country serving in the military and 
makes an impact in the whole sports 
community is a man to look up to. 
12. What do you want to be when you grow up? 
YK: An empowering female role model in 
higher educaon and the best mom in the 
world. 
13. What three things are always in your 
refrigerator? 
YK: Fruit, cheese and homemade jam. 
Three things I can’t live without! 
DB: Water, I am always thirsty. Ice Cream, 
best dessert. Local Cra Beer, SD’s finest! 
14. What was or is your favorite subject in 
school? 
DB: In grad school at USC, I really enjoyed 
my Applied Educaonal Ethnography class because I enjoyed the 
type of research completed in that class. 
YK: I always wanted to exchange my general educaon science 
classes for addional fine art elecves at the University of Utah 
because I originally hoped to go into graphic design and loved the 
opportunies to be creave! 
15. If you could have a superhero power what would it be? 
DB: Flying — see the universe in a different perspecve from up 
there plus I don’t have to pay extra for a good seat on the plane. 
YK: Invisibility — so I can play hide-and-go-seek and win every me. 
16. If you could be any color in a Crayola box, what color 
would you be? 
DB: Twilight Lavender. Purple is my favorite 
color and this is the color you see in the sky 
during a sunset. 
YK: Aquamarine. I am a Pisces and love the ocean! 
17. What is your favorite candy? 
DB: Peach-O’s are delicious! 
YK: Almond Joy because it’s a mix of chocolate, coconut and nuts!

The La Jolla Fesval of the Arts is a feast for the eyes, 
palate and ears. Meet nearly 200 arsts in an inmate 
seng of original fine art, entertainment and delicious 
cuisines, complemented with fine wine and cra beer as 
you stroll the turf of UCSD Warren Field. This is not a 
street fair but an elegant and high quality showcase. 
Produced by the Torrey Pines Kiwanis, a non-profit 
organizaon that raises funds to support adapve sports 
and recreaon programs for San Diegans with disabilies. 
Some of the proceeds from the La Jolla Fesval of the 
Arts benefit Associated Students programs for persons 
with disabilies. Over the next two years, the Kiwanis 
will donate $55,000 to the Associated Students. They 
have donated over $100,000 to A.S. over the lifeme of 
the fesval.

What was or is your favorite subject in school? DB: In grad school at USC, I really enjoyed my Applied Educaonal Ethnography class because I enjoyed the type of research completed in that class. YK: I always wanted to exchange my general educaon science classes for addional fine art elecves at the University of Utah because I originally hoped to go into graphic design and loved the opportunies to be creave! 15. If you could have a superhero power what would it be? DB: Flying — see the universe in a different perspecve from up there plus I don’t have to pay extra for a good seat on the plane. YK: Invisibility — so I can play hide-and-go-seek and win every me. 16. If you could be any color in a Crayola box, what color would you be? DB: Twilight Lavender. Purple is my favorite color and this is the color you see in the sky during a sunset. YK: Aquamarine. I am a Pisces and love the ocean! 17. What is your favorite candy? DB: Peach-O’s are delicious! YK: Almond Joy because it’s a mix of chocolate, coconut and nuts! This is not a street fair but an elegant and high quality showcase. Produced by the Torrey Pines Kiwanis, a non-profit organizaon that raises funds to support adapve sports and recreaon programs for San Diegans with disabilies. Some of the proceeds from the La Jolla Fesval of the Arts benefit Associated Students programs for persons with disabilies. Over the next two years, the Kiwanis will donate $55,000 to the Associated Students. They have donated over $100,000 to A.S. over the lifeme of the fesval.
