S.M.R.V.School Students made a chande at their school for waste management. They proved that they could create a change at their change and its surroundings.They felt the problem and Imagined what to do and did the action plan and they shared their experience with the whole world people through internet.

4. Step 1: Feel The waste gathered in our school created pollution and it was not disposed properly. Bad odors came out of noon meal wastes. Day to day it caused many problems to our school surroundings. We felt this problem should be solved in a good manner.

5. Going out Kendra Visit with our Mentor Teacher Mrs. M.Kohila To find the solution for this problem , we decided to visit some waste management areas. We had visited Vivekananda Kendra to observe the Vermiculture process. We selected a limited students to go and observe the waste management process. The students are advised to take a Video camera with them to record the process of vermiculture . 7. To prepare Vermicomposed manure at our home.

8. To find innovative ideas to multiply the worms in large scale.

9. To grow herbal garden in our school and to give awareness on natural products.

14. It improves water retention capacity of soil because of its high organic matter content.

16. Earthworm castings in the home garden often contain 5 to 11 times more nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium as the surrounding soil.

17. Promoting home composting as a solution to reduce global warming caused by methane by degradable waste in landfills.

20. Our Activities……. Fill the pit with agro waste ,cow dung, and fallen leaves from trees Waste from Noon meal centre is put into the pit. Leave it for two weeks.sprinkle water regularly.

21. After two weeks earth worm was applied on the bedding Our Activities……. After three weeks We can observe the Vermicomposed manure at the top of the pit. (The appearance of black granular crumbly powder on top of vermibeds indicate harvest stage of the compost. )

23. The earthworms go down and the compost is collected from the top.

24. Separate the baby worms and worm cocoons from it by sieving method.Now the manure is ready to use.
