Tomb of Iltutmish
General Information
Located at the north-west of Quwwat Ul Islam mosque .
Architectural Features
Made of ashlar red and gray sandstone
Perfect square in plan
Each side is 29 feet 6 inches internally, and 42 feet externally
Entrance door way, set within shallow arched recesses
The cenotaph is made of white marble

Inscription in Kufic and Naskh
characters, arabesques, floral
motifs and designs
Squinch arches was created through corbelling
method to set upon the dome on the square
outline of the tomb.
