4. HOW DID YOU USE MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES IN THE CONSTRUCTION AND RESEARCH, PLANNING AND EVALUATION STAGES?
1. 4. HOW DID YOU USE MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES IN THE
CONSTRUCTION AND RESEARCH, PLANNING AND
EVALUATION STAGES?
2. Below is a list with explanations of software and equipment that I used on this project
3. I used YouTube to upload footage that didn’t
make it into the trailer for analysis. I used YouTube
to carry out analysis of three horror film trailers as
part of my preproduction research. And then I
finally used it to upload my completed film trailer.
4. I used Facebook to gain audience feedback on my magazine
cover film poster and film trailer. I posted my cover, poster and
trailer on different occasions and asked my Facebook friends
what their thoughts and opinions were regarding the three
products.
5. I imported image files into Photoshop and used the tools
to edit the images so that they could fit in with the horror
Conventions. I did this for my magazine cover and film poster.
I did the planning first. So I basically had to draw my plan
Of the magazine cover and poster first and then I took actual
Images on which I then incorporated my ideas. I was to access
Different effects fonts, color correctors and pens and pencils
From the tool bar.
6.
7. I also created this film production company logo using Photoshop
8. I used sound cloud to upload my audio files which I
I created using garage band. I then copied the links
and embedded them into my blog. I also used sound
cloud for research purposes. Listening to different
movie sound effects created by other people and I then
tried to follow their direction and applied it to my own
Sound effects.
9. I also used sound cloud to upload question 2 of my evaluation cause I did as a voice
Recording. Copied the embed link from sound cloud and embedded it into word press
10. I used the camera to record and capture my horror
film trailer. Every time I was filming, I’d set the
camera up on a tripod stand and then press the
record button to record. The pause button to stay
on hold so that I can always pick up up from where
I left off and the stop button to completely bring
everything to a halt.
11.
12. I used the tripod stand as a device to mount the camera
On. The tripod made it easier to operate the camera
Because it held the camera firmly in place but was also
Flexible enough to let me move the camera up and down
And even sideways while still mounted.
13. I used final cut pro to edit my film trailer. I imported the clips into
final cut. Dragged the footage down into the timeline. I cut the
clips to the duration that I wanted for each one. I added effects
to the clips. Effects like gamma. The black and white filter for one
of my ghostly scenes. I also used color corrector to improve the
picture quality and the composition overall. I added transitions
like the cross fade the cross dissolve and the dissolve to black to
the necessary clips. I imported the sound I created in garage
band and included it into the timeline and when I was finally
done I exported the trailer as a quick time movie and then later
uploaded it onto YouTube and it was ready for display
FILTERSCOLOR CORRECTION
15. I mounted the mic onto the boom pole and had one of
the crew members hold it during each and every scene
In order to capture crystal clear sound from both the
Actors and the surroundings. The boom pole would
Either have to be held high up or down below. So as to
avoid it getting into the frame and ruining the scene.
16. I used the microphone to capture the sound on set from
the actors and the atmosphere. I mounted the mic onto
the boom pole and had somebody hold up some scenes
and down in other scenes. Whatever position captured
the sound best.
17. I used garage to create sound effects for my film trailer. After
doing research on how to create sound effects or what type of
sound effects to create for a horror movie on YouTube and
sound cloud. I decided to go into garage band and create my
own sound effects for my trailer. Garage band already has some
presets like drums, violins and piano sounds. And also dark
eerie music which I found quite appealing and used on my
trailer.
18. I used Google search engine to access other
websites such as YouTube, word press and Prezi.
And I also used it to carry out research on the horror
movie genre. The forms and conventions of horror
films. I was also able to find guides on other
websites that showed the things I needed in order
to shoot a good horror film trailer. I was able to
access Pete’s blog as well.
19.
20. I used motion to create my ancillary texts. Picked a font from
the variety of fonts. Typed in the word plagued which is my
trailer title. I then proceed to add a behavior to it called
ghostly out. Makes the outer parts of the font glow. I did this
for the other texts as well but used different behaviors and
filters. After I was done I exported them as QuickTime
movies and the imported them into final cut dragged them
onto the timeline at parts of the scene where they fitted
most
21.
22. I used slide share to upload my PowerPoint presentation
after which I copied the link and embedded it into the blog
because it made for easy viewing for my slideshow. I used it
to answer question 3 of my evaluation
23.
24. I used Prezi to respond to question 1 of my evaluation
as a presentation with videos images and text
25.
26. I used excel to record the information I received from
audience feedback which I then translated into bar
graphs and pie charts. The diagrams make for easy
understanding because of their visual state and also
create a much cleaner look of the records.
