The lie of the Ci
"The intercellular" CO2 concentration parameter is a common error, and the bontanics were
exploiting the error in the curve that is called "the CO2 curve". The error is that the Ci is calculated
from as well, the transpiration, which is related to stomata aperture, assuming that CO2 also
diffuses only through the stomata. In an experiment, it was proven that there is
decoupling of photosynthesis and transpiration, after elevation of decline in CO2 conentration, outside,
and so the was to explain the decoupling is that CO2 diffuses just through the leaves, not especially
through stomata. The leaves are not sealed to gases, and water is "small drops", water is liquid,
and water barely diffuses through the leaves. Water diffusion is enhanced by stomata. CO2
diffustion is fast, and it is proven by the almost immideate maximum photosynthesis after
elevation of the outside CO2 concentration...Stomata don't affect the diffustion of CO2, and CO2
diffuses uniformly along all the leaf, and not only in stomata surroundings, on the bottom of the leaf....
Also, the X scale points should be the same at all plants, and the Ci parameter, being also a
measured parameter (and not altered parameter), has not the same X points, and thus the meaning
will be unclear..We want to compare the photosynthesis at one external CO2 point, and so
the charts have to be put while the external CO2 is on the X axis..
