Ask them what paperwork do you need to send a non dutiable item – just an AWB (hold it up and describe it as shipping label)

When a shipment travels as dutiable we need to supply more information re this shipment. Ask them what each countries charges = DUTY and ask do they know how countries decide what duty to charge (value / contents – does that country make that product). Customers need to supply more info to enable customs to have a clear understanding of the value, contents and country of manufacture of the shipment this is done via the customs invoice (later on today we will look at the detail that needs to be contained on a customs invoice) In some cases other/further documentation is required – ask for an example (e.g. sanitary certificate)
