21. Getting to the ‘Quan
• Coach Service - Chariots for Hire
• 2 Busses on Mon,Tues,Thur, and Fri; one bus on Wed
• Busses leave Langley High School at 3pm in front of gym
• Busses return at about 7:30pm before DST, 8:00pm after
• On 2 bus days, 1returns to LHS, the other to Forestville ES
• On Wed, bus returns to LHS
• Carpool days on 4/24, 5/1 and 5/8
• No bus on Saturdays and Regatta Days
• Watch for bad weather cancellations

• Athletes need plenty of warm layers for early practices
• Bring water – park fountains aren’t working for first few
weeks
• Kids should have snacks for bus rides down and back
• Proper nutrition is very important – written info available
after presentation
• Parents – watch closely for weather related announcements
for practice cancellations and changes (“RainedOut”)

23. Spring Break Training
• Sun, March 29 through Fri,April 3
• No practice Monday,April 6 (school holiday)
• Training at the Occoquan/Sandy Run Park
• Participation Required for upper classes
• Participation Expected for novices
• No bus transportation provided
• Daily Rowing and Team Building (and fun!)

• Regattas generally last all day – 9 to 5 (earlier for coxswains)
• No Team bus on regatta days
• Parking – Fee inside park, but free shuttle available
• Allow 30-45 minutes from shuttle lot to grandstand
• 15 minute walk from drop-off to grandstand
• LCBC provides food, snacks and drinks to athletes
• Full concessions available for parents sponsored byVASRA

• Family Requirement
• 5Volunteer Points per Family per Season
• Point System
• Each volunteer activity generally earns 1 point per activity
• All team-related activities count, including regattas and bus
chaperones
• Example: 2 bus chaperone turns; 2 regattas and 1 team support job
gets you there
