1. EVALUATION QUESITION 6
IN WHAT WAYS HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT
TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE PROCESS OF
CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT?
2. BLOGGER
• Blogger is a very easy to use and helpful application of
Google which allows people to use embedding codes to
stream different styles of work (for example you are able to
upload PowerPoints, Prezis, videos, audios etc from simply
copying the embedding code).
• Before taking Media Studies, I had never used Blogger nor
created my own blog so I was unfamiliar of how to use it.
• I watched many online tutorials and received helpful
PowerPoints in class to expand my knowledge and create
my own blog where I have chronologically saved all my
work regarding my final media products.
• I found Blogger to be a very useful website and I will
definitely use it again in the future
3. SLIDESHARE
• Slideshare is a presentation software website which
enables you to upload Word documentations,
Powerpoints, videos etc and transform them into a
more accessible window to allow you to share on blog
websites (i.e Blogger) simply by copying and pasting the
embedding code and sharing.
• I had never used Slideshare previously but found it to
be a fundamental part of uploading my coursework
onto my Blogger account. It is very easy to use and free
and I am looking forward to using it again in the future.
4. Step by step process of what Iearnt
STEP ONE – firstly you have to make an account
with Slideshare then on your homepage you will
have the option to ‘upload’.
STEP TWO – once you have clicked ‘upload’, it
will give you the option to select your file
from your documents.
I learnt from experience of Slideshare it is easier to
make a ‘new folder’ where you save all your work
associated with your blog (for example I made one
called MEDIA BLOG).
STEP THREE – you simply find your folder
(e.g MEDIA BLOG) and select your chosen
file (e.g Vector practise)
5. STEP FOUR – once you selected your file
you give your work a title and description
and category (e.g Education) and make
sure the Privacy setting is public to make
sure you are able to copy the embed code.
STEP FIVE – in order to find the embed code
you must click ‘share’.
STEP SIX – after clicking ‘share’ you must
find the embed code and copy the entire
code.
6. STEP SEVEN – this is the final step. You must open a new tab and log
into your Blogger account. Then you must paste the entire embed
code into a new blog post and ensure the settings are on HTML.
Finally give the post a title and save and publish it onto your blog.
From experience I have learnt that it is
easy to copy only part of the embedding
code and not check that the Blogger
settings are set on HTML, which means
the documents are not able to be
uploaded onto your blog.
7. PHOTOSHOP
• Photoshop is a computer based software which I used to create my final
media product.
• Photoshop is an application I have always been very eager to learn how to
use as I believe its almost a life skill, however until taking Media Studies had
never learnt.
• Originally I found Photoshop rather daunting and difficult however I soon
learnt the basics and developed my knowledge as the year went on.
• I would now say I am rather good with Photoshop which has been a result of
watching numerous online tutorials and studying various power points given
to my by my teachers.
• I would definitely recommend people to learn how to use Photoshop as it is a
very useful skill to have and I am eager to learn more and use Photoshop in
the future.
• I would definitely say that my Photoshop skills have improved tremendously
over the past year, which is especially evident in a comparison between my
preliminary task and my final products.
8. COMPARISON BETWEEN PRELIMINIARY TASK AND
FINAL PRODUCT
As you can see it is very evident that I have improved my Photoshop skills to ensure
my final products were of a far higher standard than my preliminary task
9. SOUNDCLOUD
• Soundcloud is an application I have always used as a way of listening to music
and creating my own playlists however before starting Media Studies I was not
aware of the different ways soundcloud can be used (for example uploading my
own audios).
• Regarding my double page spread I wanted to publish blog posts which
incorporated different styles of presentations.
• Therefore I decided to record a live interview with my subject and upload it
through soundcloud by copying and pasting the embedding code onto my
Blogger account.
This is a blog post on my Blogger
which is an audio recording of myself
(as the interviewer) interviewing my
subject of my double page spread
feature article with the final
questions I chose (which is also
explained on a separate Powerpoint).
