Lauren Rice completed her graduate counseling psychology internship at College Track, an organization that provides academic and mental health support to underserved students from 9th grade through college graduation. As an intern, Lauren worked with a caseload of 25 juniors and seniors, meeting regularly to address issues like stress, depression, family problems, and anxiety. Students responded well to Lauren and felt cared for. The reference letter praises Lauren for her clinical experience, sensitivity, empathy, and commitment to professionalism and self-improvement. The director was sorry to see Lauren's internship end and felt fortunate to have her on their team working with students.

To whom it may concern,
I would like to provide a professional reference for Lauren Rice.
Lauren did her graduate counseling psychology internship at College Track – Summit 54 for the 2014/15
academic school-year. College Track works with kids from underserved communities from the summer of 9th
grade through college graduation. College Track removes the barriers that prevents students from earning
their college degrees by providing students with comprehensive academic support, leadership training,
social/emotional and mental health support, financial and college advising and scholarships. Students come
away with the skills necessary to succeed in school and life.
Lauren worked as a counselor with a caseload of 25 juniors and seniors and met regularly with them to work
on such issues as stress management, depression, family problems, relationship challenges, anxiety,
emotional regulation, self-identity and self-esteem. Our students really enjoyed working with Lauren. They
felt cared for and listened to by her and were encouraged to be and do their best through their work
together. A number of our students were able to get through very difficult life circumstances by leaning into
the support and guidance that Lauren offered them. She is an excellent clinician.
Lauren came to us at College Track with many previous years of experience in the mental health profession
and that experience really showed in her work. She is able to comfortably and confidently work with a wide
range of client issues safely and skillfully. In addition to being an astute and agile counselor, Lauren studied
somatic psychology in her graduate work. This translates into her being particularly sensitive to and intuitive
with to the internal feeling states of her clients. She is artful in her ability to calm down the stressed and
anxious client or gently move the depressed client from a state of despair to one of possibility. Lauren is
incredibly empathetic and discerning with others. She works easily with a wide range of clinical issues and
diverse populations of people.
Lauren approached every task at College Track with the utmost professionalism and integrity. She was
willing to take risks, ask for help if she needed it and skillfully follow through with all of her responsibilities.
She is committed to doing a good job and is ever seeking to learn, grow and develop herself and her skills.
She is wise and funny, kind and generous. I am very sorry that her internship is coming to an end as I will
miss working with her. We have been so fortunate to have her as an intern to work on our team and with our
students.
Thank you Lauren for all that you have done for and given to us here at College Track.
