idea via the passion, market and consumer test
Refine your business idea and “your why”, or motivation
Recognise how your story (your why) can be a powerful asset in your
business
Understand the Sister School journey and create a Sister Code
At My Big Idea workshop you may have had one clear idea or a number of
ideas that you wanted to test. You put these ideas through the passion, market
and consumer test. We are now going to spend a bit of time reviewing these
tests based on where your business idea is right now.

In small groups, share your business ideas OR listen to a Sister School
participant/ guest speaker presents their idea, answering the questions below:
1. What is your business idea?
2. What is the problem you are solving?
3. How will your idea provide a solution to consumers?
Group feedback instructions: The only feedback allowed is “building on”
feedback. For example “I love your idea, I think that would really help busy
mums in inner city urban areas” or “That is a huge problem you are solving and
I loved it when you were clear on the specific niche customer”.

INSTRUCTIONS: Break into teams. In 3 minutes, your team must use 20 strands
of spaghetti, 1 meter of tape and 1 meter of string to build a free-standing, self-
stranding structure that is able to support a marshmallow.

  • 11. At My Big Idea workshop you may have had one clear idea or a number of ideas that you wanted to test. You put these ideas through the passion, market and consumer test. We are now going to spend a bit of time reviewing these tests based on where your business idea is right now.

Look objectively at what you are offering – how well does your product or service offer connected with the potential customer’s needs? We’ll be looking at this in much greater detail in Session #2. What is your business idea? 2. What is the problem you are solving? 3. How will your idea provide a solution to consumers? Group feedback instructions: The only feedback allowed is “building on” feedback. For example “I love your idea, I think that would really help busy mums in inner city urban areas” or “That is a huge problem you are solving and I loved it when you were clear on the specific niche customer”.
