Students will learn drawing techniques like blending, stippling, hatching and cross-hatching to create the illusion of 3D forms on 2D surfaces. They will use pencils, charcoal, conte crayon and pen & ink to draw still lifes, figures, portraits, landscapes and imaginative subjects. Students are expected to apply art elements and design principles to their original images. The class costs $10, takes one semester for a half fine art credit, and has no textbook requirement. Good grades and behavior are expected.
