3. Where?
As I am only making the opening to a film I will only require one
location/set. The location needed is a bedroom aboard a space craft
as such I will have to make the set myself. The images on the
previous slide I am using as inspiration for what I will create.
I will use foil bubbled wrap aluminum insulation, to create the walls
of my set. I shall also use cardboard tubing and spray paint to built
other aspects of my set anything else I hope to simply redress
existing objects such as a a travel bed as well as using old pieces of
technology (redressed slightly) to give an old fashioned view of the
future.
4. How will the set be built
and what with?
I shall stick the foil to the walls of a room from
there I will use a combination of carpet tubing
and other unusual or different containers etc. I
shall use spray paint and LED’s to add colour
and lighting to my set. All the different pieces
shall be coloured and lit etc. and then stuck to
the walls or props etc. to give the look of a
bedroom on board a fictional spaceship.
Also I shall use computer parts some new some
old combined with the cardboard, plastic, lights
etc. to give a futuristic yet retro look to the set.
For the bed I will use unusual coloured (possibly
silver) bedding with things stuck to the frame ie
cardboard, plastics and light to transform the
bed into a fictional spaceship style bed.
6. What will be in the room?
The previous slide shows several
things I plan on including in my set,
some of these things will be stuck on
the walls etc. whilst others will help
to make objects such as the cereal
box and comic books in the room.
The idea is to initially fit the room
with signs symbols etc. to give a
spaceship looking interior then add
more homely retro sci-fi stuff such as
the Sci-Fi comic and the cereal box
to show that a human lives in this
room so is somewhat personalised.
