2. The Sun
With this Billboard poster the
sun has cleverly used their own
name of the brand to show
they sell a product everyday
parallel with the sun which
does actually come out
everyday.
With this professional billboard
poster you can see the usage
of the sky and gates
underneath the billboard
poster connoting some kind of
force and shield against other
newspaper companies. When I
am positioning my newspaper
it is important to get the
correct location where people
will see it such as the city
centre and I could I possibly
have used something more
iconic to Leicester so people
would notice.
With my billboard poster
I have tried to create a
similar effect and use
the skyline in my poster
connoting my
newspaper is
untouchable and better
than my competitors.
Also there is a connotation
that we need the sun in life,
just like the sun newspaper.
3. The sun
Here the sun have used the
current theme of the Olympics
to create a buzz with their
newspaper and get people
wanting to read it.
I have similarly done the same
thing with my billboard poster
using an ex professional
footballer for Leicester whom
the local people know and will
want to buy the newspaper
because he reads it.
I have personalisation with my
newspaper by using a local star
of who people know, this is
both aspirational and relatable
as my star has been chosen for
the ‘everyman’.
4. The Leicester Edition
My billboard poster has
some of the same features
taken from the professional
poster such as the skyline.
However I also have
decided to put a person in
mine because it creates the
nostalgia around the
newspaper given that he is
an ex professional footballer
for Leicester this fits in well
with the newspapers image
due to our target market.
I chose an older ex
professional footballer
because my newspaper is
aimed at an older audience
and so they can relate with
him.
5. The Leicester Edition
I
believe that during the production
stages of my Billboard poster, I decided
that taking inspiration from professional
newspapers was the right thing to do as
this meant I was making it as professional
as possible.
I also believe that my billboard poster has
a professional edge to it with the text and
imagery.
