2. Summary of Benefits
The LibertyLink® trait with Liberty® herbicide offers the
most reliable management solution for weeds resistant to
glyphosate and multiple herbicide classes.
The LibertyLink trait with Liberty herbicide is the link to
profitable, efficient row crop production and glyphosate
sustainability.
The LibertyLink trait is widely available in high-yielding
soybean, corn, cotton and canola varieties, and allows
over-the-top use of Liberty herbicide.
The LibertyLink trait offers several advantages over
glyphosate-tolerant systems, as well as several similar
benefits:
Kills weeds in days vs. weeks.
If environmental conditions don’t allow a residual to be activated,
Liberty herbicide offers the most effective postemergence option for
controlling glyphosate-resistant weeds.

3. Integrated Weed Management
With a unique mode of action (Group 10),
Liberty, used over the top of LibertyLink crops
is the only nonselective alternative to
glyphosate-tolerant systems, where resistance
is a growing concern.
Liberty herbicide with the LibertyLink trait is
available in multiple crops, which enables
growers to rotate nonselective herbicides as
well as selective herbicides, on a farm-by-farm
basis.
By following Integrated Weed Management
(IWM) practices in LibertyLink crops, growers
can preserve the utility of herbicide-tolerant
technologies.

4. Stewardship and Resistance Management
Respect the Rotation™ is an initiative to:
Elevate the importance and grower adoption of herbicide diversity through rotation
of crops, traits and herbicide classes.
Promote agronomically sound IWM practices by highlighting an essential action to
improve weed resistance management.
Working together, Respect the Rotation can:
Promote sustainable and profitable row crop production.
Steward current and future weed management technology.
Motivate growers to manage the spread of weed resistance.
Preserve conservation tillage opportunities, land values and a grower’s legacy.

5. Stewardship and Resistance Management
Respect the Rotation
Rotate Crops. Switch the crops you plant in each field frequently to help diversify
weed management tools.
Rotate Herbicide-Tolerant Traits. Alternate herbicide-tolerant traits and/or use
herbicide-tolerant stacks for more efficient rotation.
Rotate Modes of Action. Reduce selection pressure of a single mode of action by
using multiple modes of action during each growing season and from year to year.
It’s best to use multiple practices, as no single strategy is likely to be
completely effective.
It’s important to take every opportunity to stop surviving weeds from
producing seed. This will reduce the soil seed bank and the selection
pressure, slowing the development of resistant weeds.

6. Stewardship and Resistance Management
Best management practices for Liberty herbicide and LibertyLink
crops:
Start with a clean field – apply fall herbicides and/or spring burndown herbicides
that have a different mode of action than Liberty herbicide.
Use full recommended rates of a residual based on the specific weed spectrum in
the field.
Apply a properly timed application of Liberty herbicide or Liberty tankmix at labeled
rates.
Apply a subsequent, well-timed application of Liberty herbicide or another
appropriate herbicide with a different mode of action as needed.
Reference the Liberty label and the Trait & Technology Use Manual for additional
details and guidelines.
