Independance from software vendors and
technical platforms
Promotion of local or national SMEs (small and
medium enterprises),
Supporting Munich as a hotspot for IT-professionals
Keeping the IT know how inside the city
administration
Improving the efficiency of Munich's IT through
new/better processes

8. A lot of rumors in the press.
Mayor Reiter and Deputy Mayor Schmid
seem to favor Microsoft.
Facts:
There is no decision to go to Microsoft.
Mayor Reiter wants to check the
efficiency of Munich's IT (organisation,
costs, performance, useability and user
satisfaction). There will be a public
tender for that study.
It is not clear if the often cited complaints
of Munich's users about the problems in
the IT are because of LiMux or are
based on processes, old
hardware/software or something else.
